Ipod not able to 'Search"

Ok, so I did the "reset media index"...now I can't search like I used to be able to

I did discover though, that if you scroll down to "Explore Device" you can search from there. There's just no "play all" option like the normal search, you can only play individual albums. So, not being able to listen to everything I have for a certain artist at once is annoying, but at least when I pick Skid Row now I don't get Hoobastank .

Just an update.... I could not get ipod(s) to search through the music Folders on the Sync. I put all of the music Folders onto a 128GB USB drive and now they are all accessible.

I guess the older Sync doesnt like the older Ipod Classics.

I was actually debating if I should do this as well. So you're able to search for and play artist? Do you have a "play all" option to play everything from the artist? Does it show the album art?

It may be that older devices are not fully compatible with newer versions of sync firmware. Just a guess.

I still wonder if - connecting to Apple Music - and resync the media or rebuild the Itunes.db file would correct the issue on the classic.

Amazon has Sandisk mini usb drives that don't stick out much from the usb jack.
