Interesting information on Long Range Fuel Tanks

This is just general information not related to a specific tank that I came across recently and figured I would share it.

So for those wanting a bigger fuel tank and keep questioning the cost, well I did find out why it cost so much. Besides the fact that it is being made by individuals that are making a living wage and shipping prices to get things from Down Under, there are a lot of certifications from testing that needs to be done. These include impact damage and burst pressure. These particular tests and certifications are not cheap along side the fact you must build a few tanks to start just to do testing. Once it is all said and done you are easily $10,000 out. That is part of why manufacturers in the US and Australia have strict rules to follow and why you can't just weld some metal together and call it a day.
