Hi all, I currently have a backflip MX4 cover on my Ford STX 5 foot bed 4 x 4. and I love it. I do not want to buy another cover with a TS rail on it in order to install the realtruck elevate rack. Has anyone ever seen a modified rail that you could put on the bed rail along side an already mounted cover to accommodate the elevate rack.

Thanks to whoever moved this to the right thread. I believe the rack used to be called a Truxedo Elevate rack.

I've been looking into this too, and the other weekend I chatted a bit in the parking lot with a guy who had the Elevate on his truck and got a look at it in real-life. He had a roll-top tonneau, whereas mine is the Ford-branded tri-fold, which I think is pretty much identical to yours. Like for both of us, he had had the cover first, and got the racks later.

From what I could eyeball, I think that both of our tonneaus would rest fairly well within the space between the TS rails that you can get as an adapter. These are really low profile, so I don't think that it would cause a gap in between the cover and the bed rails. I haven't had the chance to confirm it, yet, but I'm planning to give it a go in the fall; sadly there are a few more pressing items with priority in the budget before that.

That being said, if anyone's "been there, done that", I'm all ears.

@LaBalbe Thanks for the detailed reply. I knew the were others out there wanting to do this. Are you saying the adapter would go under the cover rail but on top of the bed rail? Sort of like this terrible drawing here.

I was able to get an amazingly tight fit with almost zero water leaking so I’m afraid of messing it up. But the Elevate racks look sharp.

Yeah, that was pretty much my impression. I wish I had pictures, but I didn't know the guy and he was busy loading up a new kayak that he'd just bought (the sales attendant had gone back in to the store to grab something) so I didn't want to impose on him too much either.

Nice, i'll have to find these TS adapter rails. If anyone has a link please help. I'm in the same boat and will have to wait a while before getting them, got other things I need to take care of now, but fully intend on getting the rails and the Elevate racks, they are the best looking ones that will go with a flip top tonneu cover.

I know they sell the t track rails separately for the revolver. I don’t see them on the website for the mx4. It might be worth contacting realtruck to see if they can get you the t track rails for the mx4 separately. That would be the simplest solution if they would sell you just the rails.

@Josh Stretch yeah, I contacted Realtruck, it is where I purchased the BAKFlip. I could not be happier with my cover. They said the new BAKFlip rails with TS rail will not work with my current cover.

Got a better picture from the elevate TS rail installation instructions. The site says it is not compatible with BAKFlip MX4. But I’m wondering if it would still work?? That hard folding cover rail profile in this picture is exactly like my BAKFlip MX4 profile. ?

What do you think of this? So I don’t have to remove my BAKFlip MX4 rails I’d cut off the TS rail at the point before the angle and then bolt it to my bed rail. Too sketchy?

Currently, there isn't a simple work around that we can offer to make the Elevate Rack fit with your current MX4. However, there are other rack solutions out there that include rails for tie-downs and are compatible with the MX4. The ADARAC Aluminum Pro Series Truck Rack is the most common solution. If you'd like more information on this rack, I'd be happy to go over that with you.

Thanks for the reply @Realtruck. I saw the ADARAC on your site earlier and the are a good option. I was really looking to mount the Elevate Rack. I guess I can either rig something up for the Elevates or go with the ADARAC.

Did you ever make this work? I have the Truxedo LoPro and found a used MX4 that I would like to have. I just hate to spend the money and have it not work.
