Does anyone know if it is possible to import the Ranger Raptor into the USA? What would it take to do so and which country would be the easiest to import from into the USA?

I have never imported a car into the USA before, what are the challenges? Thanks

You can but you wouldn't be able to drive it on the street. A lot of folks in the Lotus world do this as the more desirable models aren't available in the US (only one model sold new here now). They import them in for track use only and are labeled as such. Lotus dealers would bring them over and sell for a premium but these are hardcore track junkies that go this route.

Thank you for the information, the two criteria, being 25 years old is out, but what about "similar" or do they mean the same? The Ranger Raptor is the Ranger base of course. I will try to see if they would accept it.
More info: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/289/kw/cars

The EPA won't sign off since the US Ranger doesn't come with the same Diesel engine used abroad. You might still be in luck, since these are body-on-frame vehicles, you might be able to put a Ranger Raptor body on a US Ranger.

Would be infinitely cheaper to 1. Get a US Ranger, put $10K worth of Fox coil overs on it, put 2500$ worth of wheels and tires on it, and then another $5K of body work (rolled fenders, grille and light work).

Importing any vehicle is a nightmare of taxes and waiting for customs. After you spend thousands to get the vehicle to a port of entry, the EPA or Customs can basically tell you any sum of money to get thing "A", or "B" or "C" done, and even after that, they can say "Sorry, we're not allowing it in", and you've lost your money, and now have to figure out how to recover some of your cost.

You "might" be able to 1. Buy a complete ranger raptor from the Philippines, etc. 1. Have someone completely disassemble it into parts. 3. Ship all those parts in several different containers at different times, and then 4. reassemble the raptor into a US host body/frame (crashed or otherwise), so if you had $120+K to blow, you might be able to get it done.

Nope! Not and have it Street legal in the USA! Engine wouldn't be compliant, No telling what crash compliance would be needed, etc. Off road, display or other non-driving purposes wold be possible but are costly and rare.

It can be done, but the stipulation is it is not used on the street. It would be strictly used off road and nothing more...it would likely have to be trailered to the offroad area.

From time to time we imported vehicles that were non compliant and even were able to drive them on the street, but when done they has to be shipped back to where they came from or scrapped, which was ever cheaper. When doing the HPC Diesel Ranger way back then, I had a right hand drive diesel Mitsubishi Gallant for a few months to drive and live with to see how this engine was in daily life. We sent it to the crusher when we started prototype builds.

My other concern would be unique ROW parts and how to get them....Probably better to wait for the USA version of the Raptor.
