It has to be done through Forscan. You cant use your own images but you can use other vehicle splash screens such as the Raptor, ST, RS, GT350 etc.

I believe a pre-2014 version of sync allowed you to use your own image. Since then, you cannot load your own splash screen.

Yeah, my 2011 Escape allows you to load images from a usb drive. I hoped that Sync 3 would allow you to do the same.

Mine switches from day mode to night mode when it gets dark. Thought that was a standard feature.

It's an option in the screen settings tab of Sync. I too tried running it in night mode all the time for a bit since I dislike the 3 very similar theme options. But I found the screen to be too dark and unreadable in sunlight so I had to manually crank the brightness all the way up for the day, and then it wouldn't auto dim when it did get dark so it was blinding me at night until I manually went in and dimmed it again. So I decided to just deal with one of the stock backgrounds and hope that a Sync update in the future will give me something better.

Forscan can change the system skin, aside from just the splash screen. I use GT, it’s really nice. The stock skin is pretty bad.

That happens to be the splash screen list but the skin/theme list is basically the same. I did this a year ago and that's the only pic I had.
