this is my first vehicle without a manual lock.

if the battery dies, how does this affect the door locks? will they stay in the position they were left in? i’m assuming battery failure won’t result in an automatic open or close?

does the lock have a key-driven manual mode? if the battery is dead i assume i can still get in with the key blade?

if we are locked out of the car, will a standard AAA or similar lockout service have trouble opening the door? i’m guessing it’s not like my old escort where i could get myself in with a coat hanger in 45 seconds.

A portion called the latch is partially in and out of the lock cylinder when the door is locked. If the door is unlocked, the latch stays inside the lock cylinder. The latch can only be disengaged and the door unlocked with a key. If you inserted the wrong key, the pins wouldn’t be aligned according to their proper position. Because of this, there would not be any gap between the upper and lower pins, and you cannot turn the lock’s cylinder.
