I knew you had long summer days, but I didn't realize that much energy is produced at that latitude.I find it funny that normal summer temperatures are advertized as someting exceptional in these days.

Many times Lappland is the hottest place in Finland. Just so happens that 400-600W/m2 * 24hrs in day raises the temperatures.
Orbital mechanics. 68 degrees latitude with 23 degrees axial tilt gets you 45 degrees angle to sunshine in noon and 89 degrees at midnight (hence the sun does not go down effect).I knew you had long summer days, but I didn't realize that much energy is produced at that latitude.
