Thought i would share my design in case someone else has any interest in doing something similar. 302 stainless 1.5 & 2 inch angle, and 1 inch square stainless. ~$350 of steel. Weighs about 70lbs. Any suggestions on something to use as the platform? Star Board is so expensive.....

That is awesome! Did you do the welding yourself or outsource it after fabricating the pieces yourself? Any pictures of the build??

Do you get paid commission for the billboard on your tailgate? ?

Thanks! I did about 10% of the welding, my father did the rest. It was designed to hold at least 400 lbs (rooftop tent + 2 people, or a rack full of coolers)We did it all from raw steel with a chop saw & table grinder. With how expensive stainless is these days, we followed the old saying; measure 5 times, cut once. Unfortunately i don't have any pictures of the build.

I've been too lazy to take the stickers off....really doesn't bother me.

Thanks for checking it out!
