I was in 8th grade and remember it well. Back then you don't realize the importance of it and what it all means. Sadly they don't teach kids the meaning of this now and I hope there's enough parents who are.

Another great song about America by Charlie Daniels.

I bought a brand new Chevy truck to celebrate. Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie, & Chevrolet for the 200th.

Remember back then we used to say The Pledge of Allegiance every morning. Need to bring that back into the schools. I would bet money most of the younger generation does not know the words to it, or even know what it is. Still to this day I remember the words to The Pledge. A few years ago there was a video of I believe an LA council member who was trying to recite it, and made a fool of himself. For naturalization of citizenship you need to learn all that stuff and pass a written and oral test. Probably now days it is not even studied in the classroom, not Politically Correct anymore.

Waiting for the Mount Rushmore fireworks to start .
We've been to Mount Rushmore 2 times now and the night show is something everyone should see. The park ranger does a speech telling the history of one of the presidents on the mountain and they change it every night. Then at the end they call up all Veterans past and present when they lower the flag while singing the Pledge Of Allegiance. Very moving! We're going to try and do a trip so we can be there for the 4th of July and watch the fireworks.

The row of all the State flags as you enter.
