I wanna get a 10-22 Takedown. Haven't been able to find one! Had a mini 14 about 30 years ago.....man, would that thing throw the brass! Shoot 20rds and find maybe 2. LOL Accuracy with it back then was terrible.....worse than terrible. Wouldn't mind owning another but as you said the prices have been going up!
It was esp bad after it heated up.

w/ Magpul Backpacker stock and stainless...

But I think you'd dig this one the most. I didn't even know Ruger made a 10/22 takedown with a walnut stock...

They aren't all over like Glocks. But they're around if you dig enough.
I've got both stocks. The walnut looks great. The backpacker stock holds the barrel well when disassembled.

The perfect bug out combo! Magpul Stock on Ruger 10-22 and Sig 22. Case comes with the rifle. Bag is well designed with lots of room. Can hold all you need.

I have a Kel-Tec P11 pistol I bought probably 20 years ago. Never any issues with it and had been 100% reliable. Only issue is the trigger. It is heavy and a very long pull. But for EDC and close in self defense, it is a good pistol.
i had one of those and it was great for carry at the time but i never could hit much with it past about 20 feet. that super long heavy trigger would throw me off. it was 100 % reliable. at one point they made one in 40 sw. I tried a friends and it was punishment to shoot lol. same long hard trigger pull with the extra snap of the bigger round. i really like the kel tec shotguns, pretty innovative.

Awesome.

Mine is a tacticool looking ATI stock. It wasn't meant to be permanent but works well. The M4 type adjustable buttock it has makes it a breeze to adapt to new shooters of all sizes.

Lately I've been considering a different stock. I might tackle that when I get done with my LC Carbine build. Been going back and forth between the two Magpul stocks, Hunter, and Backpacker.

And also the Hogue with TacSol Bull Barrel...

Question about your Magpul Backpacker. With the foregrip and buttstock locked together, and your optic on there, can the rifle be placed in the main sleeve of the bag? If I continue to use the Ruger bag I'd like to have both slender sleeves on the other side available.

The Ruger bag is nice though. Mine currently holds the rifle with optic, 2 BX-25 mags, 2 rotary mags, SR22 w/3mags, holster for the pistol, sling for the rifle, first aid kit, pocket knife, and 1500 rounds, in a very compact package.

No bug out bag is complete without 22LR in it. You can carry so many rounds, and let’s be honest a 22 will not only take down game if you had to but a few rounds to the chest at any reasonable distance and the fights over. Russian snipers used it successfully for urban combat and poachers use it because it’s relatively quiet. If I could only have one gun it would be a 22 semi auto. When everyone else has been out of ammo for years you still will have plenty. Plus it’s probably the most common round to find if you had to. Well now you got me wanting to update my bug out bag. It’s not as quick a grab as yours since I can’t leave stuff out with kids and it’s locked up but that looks like a great combo. You know I thought this forum would only help me spend money on truck parts. This is getting dangerous ?

@TJC how does the Sig seem to cycle? Any issues with jamming or stovepiping on cheaper ammo? I read that the Walter P22 had some issue with that. That SIG looks awesome.

I have a Sig mosquito. Mine does not like cheap ammo. It is only reliable with the high velocity ammo. Other than that, it is a blast?

I run CCI Mini Mags, American Eagle, and Remington Gold rounds, and have not had any problems. I do know of the feed issue with them when using Winchester bulk 22 rounds, and it is fixed by polishing the feed ramp (removing the lip) with a dremel. Easy to do and doesn't take long. Using the above ammo, both of mine have been reliable. I have friends who toughed out the jams using the bulk ammo and after 100 rounds or so theirs smoothed out.

it does come with 2 cycle springs. Use the weaker spring with cheap ammo, and the stiffer spring with the quality stuff. Keep it well oiled and clean. The more you shoot it the smoother and more reliable it gets. If you are going to use the cheap ammo, keep the slide back with the weak spring installed when storing the weapon.

I've got one with about 1000 rounds through it using CCI and American Eagles. I may take some of my bulk 22 ammo to the range next time out and see if mine balks at it.

The Mosquito looks like its big brother, the Sig P226. It is 90% the size of the P226.
Low recoil, and very accurate due to its fixed barrel.

This is the kind of weapon that your wife or GF will enjoy at the range. Solid feel, low recoil, and not too loud... with good ergonomics, as well as being very accurate.

I like mine, but your mileage may vary.

RE: Can rifle be placed in main sleeve of bag?

Yes. This is exactly how I pack my bag. Ruger got the design right with this rifle and the bag.

Just an fyi..
I shot a 30 lb hog in the side behind the shoulder with a ruger 10/22. With CCI mini mags. The hog was running and I shot 9 times, one shot broke his rear leg and he laid down one final shot in the neck point blank and the that killed Him.
None of the mini mags passed into the chest, all had been caught just under the skin, do to expansion and fragmentation.
The next day I went back with federal round nose 40 grain solid points 1200 fps. I found the same bunch of hogs in the same spot, I shot another one behind the shoulder, he ran about 30 yards and dropped dead. The bullet went through both lungs. Hogs were incidental as we were squirrel hunting .

I shoot and stock 40 gr round nose for my .22s, although slightly slower @1100fps. It seems to bridge the target/small game gap well.
