I'll second the Doc again.

Another one to consider might be the Sig Sauer P938. SAO 1911 style minus the grip safety, more compact than most commander 1911s, metal framed, and extended mags can provide a full grip if your fingers are on the skinnier side.

Here's my p238, the .380 version 9mm is same size, in my hand for idea of their size.

I love my little mouse gun. It shoots like an extension of my hand.
Those are great options!

I’ll definitely look into that one as well. That’s right about the size I’m looking for. Metal frame would be nice as well. SIG makes good guns.

I keep my 590 in the corner of the living room loaded with 00 Buckshot!
I would if my kids were older. They’re too young for me to trust just yet. My oldest does pretty well with safety and every time we go shooting he takes it very seriously.

That's good! Teach 'em when they're young........correct 'em when they do something wrong and commend 'em when they do something good!

Exactly. I try to show them all the stuff I fell in love with when I was younger. I would much rather have them spend the day in the woods that sitting in front of a tv. Some things I didn’t discover until I was older. Shooting, fishing, and hunting I’ve done since I was young so hope I can pass all of that along to my kids. My oldest has this obsession with wanting to use a scope or red dot on everything but I won’t let him until he gets good with iron sights first. Probably those damn call of duty video games he sees them all in lol. (Not that I would ever play one with him ?).

Best thing is to get 'em away from the TV. That thing is poisonous! Sounds like you're doing it right!

Appreciate it! I’m trying my best with the finite amount of energy I have lol. Sometimes it’s easier said than done, but I plan on raising two good men with some virtues distilled in them. The world needs more good men, that’s for sure.

Love my 10/22 takedown. Just recently pulled the crappy scope off of it. Been shooting it with my Williams Ace in The Hole peep sight again.

Been considering a dot on it. Did you go prism, holographic, or reflex with it? I feel like a larger reflex type could be fun.
I like my 10/22 TakeDown as well. So much so I purchased another for my bride. Keep 'em in my bug out bag with plenty of rounds. Nothing better than a light weight small package with an easy to store rifle with a companion SIG Mosquito.

I also like the Ruger Mini-14. The newer models are better made and more accurate. The just shoot forever, so reliable. And if they ever come after the evil AR-15s, the Mini-14 may still be an option as it is just a light small game hunting rifle! It doesn't have the pistol grip and adjustable stock of the evil "military grade" AR-15. And it is not black. (wink-wink).

I just took a look at prices and man are they going up!

I wanna get a 10-22 Takedown. Haven't been able to find one! Had a mini 14 about 30 years ago.....man, would that thing throw the brass! Shoot 20rds and find maybe 2. LOL Accuracy with it back then was terrible.....worse than terrible. Wouldn't mind owning another but as you said the prices have been going up!

Yep, I’ve got a newer version Mini-14 a few years ago. I never purchased an AR because where I used to live they were constantly trying to ban them. Mini-14s were never discussed so now I have one. Turns out if you change the action to a Garand style action and a standard stock unlike that scary collapsible stock, the gun is no longer an “assault fully semi automatic weapon of war”. ? Great guns and in my humble opinion, Rugers best gun to date.

Mine has an SR-22 along side it in the bag and they get a lot of use.

Mini-14s are cool as hell. I'd be very happy with an A-Team type folder. But like you said, very proud of them, they are.

I have a Mini‐14. Very cool and lightweight but less accurate then my ARs. The damn thing sure does throw brass though. Threw it from my bench over the gate and bounced off my Ranger's hood. I was like what is that boink I'm hearing? Had to use touch up paint on it!

I like the mini 14 as well. Amazingly, nobody on the A Team could hit anything with them ?
