Well it all started with my 2020 Ranger FX4, got in a bad accident and after 9 months and $27k to repair it (insurance wouldn't total it, thanks covid prices) I got it back and traded into the 2021 Tremor and drove it for 2.5 years full bolt-ons, tuned on E85 and got bored so I decided it was time for something new... Considered a 2022 F150 Raptor so I could mod it (my brother has the current fastest gen 3 Raptor) and I was going to mirror his build but with prices of 2022 with low mileage being nearly what a new 2025 Raptor is I decided that wasn't the route to go, considered a Bronco Raptor but figured I'd miss my pickup bed utility. So my brother told me to take a look at the Ranger Raptor since his tuner (GooseTuned) can tune Ranger Raptor's... 3 weeks of searching and pondering I went and picked this up yesterday. I can say every short coming in the 5G is pretty much eliminated.

-more leg room (I'm 6'4)
-supportive bolstered seats
-heated steering wheel (my hands are always cold)
-watts link rear
-live valves
-3.0 ecoboost
-infotainment (audio system is vastly better)
-new adaptive headlights

Pretty much everything I either disliked or wanted to change but simply couldn't add after having two quite modded Lariat 5Gs, has been altered/fixed. I'm really glad I decided to take a look at the 6G Ranger Raptor. Honestly the $60k price of the Raptor is a bargain after having two 5G Lariats that were $48-49k and then probably $6-7k mods to change it. Even more so when you consider you get the same drivetrain as a the Bronco Raptor that's $80K with a huge discount, or the $82k starting for the F150. My brother even said after having a 21 FBO E85 5G Tremor, a modded 19 Gen 2 Raptor and his current modded 22 Gen 3 that the Ranger Raptor is truly awesome especially what you get for the price.

120 miles on the clock and I already have some big plans for this first is tuning as soon as the unlocked ECU gets here.

Hell yeah! Winfield tuned our Explorer ST. I wish he would get into 2.3 Ranger tuning.

I agree, the only downside to a RR is the slightly less towing capacity… but realistically no one buys one to tow… it’s more of a perk to be able too, and you can just downsize the trailer if need be.

Nice, I agree the 2500 Kg tow limit has been a bit of a limiting factor for me adopting one in the past, I could tow our 2400 Kg Caravan with that, but as you said not really the right tool for the job. but they still look and sound great!

Great looking rigs all three of them. WOW a Raptor way cool. Have fun with your new toy!
Thanks, I’ve had fun with the past two for sure.

He’s really a great guy and a great tuner.
Nice trio of rangers you got there, maybe some more info on your e85 ranger
Thanks! It was full bolts on (mountune ic/pipes, k&n full intake, cvf dp) , stock fuel system with true E85, 285/70R17 on heavy AEV wheels, with a traction bar I made for the truck. It went 13.2 @ 106 on dragy with not the most favorable DA and I really only did a few hits, didn’t build it to drag race just used it as a measuring tool.

It not an issue for me as there’s a 3500 deleted Duramax in the driveway. Realistically 99% people aren’t towing as much as they think or as regularly.

Yeah the towing is a non issue for me, having a 3500 sitting in the driveway. I think realistically with the lower rating but with the more favorable gear ratio and better engine choice over the 5G it will actually tow better for what most Ranger owners are towing anyway which is below the Raptors limit and far below the 5G Rangers. If people are realistically towing more than 5k lbs regularly you should really consider a half ton truck, especially in my area where there are a lot of 6-9% grades.

True true.. it’s been a teeter on go smaller trailer or get a bigger truck…?.. however life is good right now and I’m sentimentally attached…. So the next vehicle will have to be a mistress ?

I have just had to abandon towing a 2200kg caravan mid trip due to the RAWR. I have a 2020 Australian RR. GVM 3090, split 1550 F and 1540 RAWR.

With myself, a dog, and a canopy, plus 100ah battery, dual compressor and some tools in tub, the maximum I could look at for towing was around 80kg which is insanely light and not doable for a camper trailer even.

Whilst the RR can on flat roads tow and cruise at 90kmph without issue using redarc, it is very apparent during take off from standstill and for any include whatsoever that the RR is NOT a Towing vehicle.

I've now got a roofrack and awning which pretty much maxes out off-road to just that on the roof (80kg max onroad, 35kg max offroad, 27kg rack and fittings, 10kg awning)

Its a bummer because I'm doing a full (20k or so) lap of Australia and absolutely rate the RR second to none off-road on the multiple tracks remote that I'm visiting.

I'm going to get comfortable with a tent :)
