Honestly bitching at each other changes nothing. Think of it this way. The supply chains for these were stretched pretty thin before this all started. Manufacturing the ‘bits’ happens all over the world now. Is like bumper to bumper traffic. Once the clog is released still takes a good amount of stop and go before things smooth out and are normal again. It isn’t going to be any different for this. All manufacturers are affected in some form or manner.

Took my Ranger in to body shop this a.m. to repair damage from hitting a deer about 5 weeks ago. i asked if they had any issues getting the parts and they said No, all parts are here.

put it to you this way, in the US your death rate is about 1.7%, canada its 2.85%.
we will average it to 2 for ease of maths.

The Ranger plant itself employs about 3000 people.
that means that 60 employees at that plant could be dead. thats alot of people to lose off of a shift....thats slows down production. now add in all the supporting companies....and geez golly thats means more dead people...more slowdowns, more delays.....not to mention all the sick people that cant come to work....so yeah, keep shaking your fist over no parts

its a statistic you fool, its a probability, and it could very well happen.
other business' might lose 90% of their employees while others lose none.
that's not CNN talking, that's common sense.
unfortunately, the news networks, all of them, show the lack of common sense on a daily basis, welcome to todays world, where the dumb just get dumber

If you're going to call others fools whilst quoting statistics you might want to make sure you have a rudimentary understanding of said statistics and whether they back you up or not.

I'm pretty sure that the death rate is of those that have actually been diagnosed with Covid. The death rate compared to the USA population is "only" 0.13%.

Per Johns Hopkins (https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality), 1.7% is the number in the US. The much lower number is I believe based on overall population, not those who've contracted covid-19. I didn't look it up to confirm.

I'll stand partially corrected.

1.7%, with the roughly 420,000 "covid deaths" doesn't mesh up with either total population or "confirmed positives."

I BELIEVE they are using assumed positive numbers, not tested positive.

So I'm not sure anyone KNOWS where the numbers come from.

Add in the fact that the "covid deaths" appear to be over reported and we're all flying blind.

Lucky you. Where was the damage? Only items on hold for me relate to the damn assisted cruise control.

At least in the manufacturing plant I work in, it's not so much about the lives lost in the plant (I don't believe we've had any to my knowledge), but it's about the ones who get/are sick and can't come in to work. For quite awhile there we had whole stations who were out sick, whether with Covid, chance of Covid, or were taking advantage of the Covid policy to get out of work. @RANGER PRIDE's numbers may have been on the high end, though extrapolated from real data, but the point still stands that it's hard to build a product at rate, or even at all, when 10-20% of your workforce can't/won't come in to work.

I think that's a bit of a cop out, depending on the industry. At my place of business, and anywhere I've ever worked, if 20% of the workforce is out than the remaining 80% work harder/longer to get the work done.

We've increased our business by at least 50% in the last year. We've dealt with more sick days, and covid days than ever. We've been staffed at lower percentages than ever, and we've got it done.
