I plan on buying things from the dealer only if the price is competitive and if I can install it myself. I'm not paying their install fees. Honestly, the only time I have really been to the dealership was for alignments after raising or lowering (mustang and ranger, both). I think for the limited things I'll use the card for, it will probably just get me some goodies here and there from the accessory store. So you get 10% and/or 0% interest back on dealer prices and maybe you pay for dealer install pricing.
So... basically you still come out in the negative.
Better off getting a 5% back Amazon card...
I have several credit cards already including a prime card, but you only get 5% at amazon, and that's if you're a prime member, which I am. So essentially, you are still paying an annual fee with that card against the ford card which has none.
Honestly I like the Ford card basically for 3% gas and restaurants (comparable to other good cards), and the opportunity to get rewards on car insurance. I haven't found another card that does that, and I have a policy with several vehicles so it makes sense for something I have to pay anyway. I'll share my thoughts and experiences after a couple months.
