Loki is super cute and I bet he makes a great wing man! Kudos to you for thinking about others and not just about yourself.

That said, new MPG on this engine is pretty bad, likw 2-3 mpg lower than the last one so I do wonder if something is up or maybe just all the extra traffic lights they added around here.
If it's a brand new engine, it may get better over time. When my truck was new, the MPG was around 21, just judging by the dash reading. Now at 28K, it reads around 24. This isn't very scientific, but I seem to have gained 2-3 MPG over the 4 years I've had it.

the F-150 is nice for its bed size/volume, and the space for me as a driver at 6 feet tall. the distance that i prefer for my reach to the steering wheel results in my knee resting on the center console. i could back the seat up a hair, but that throws me off with my reach to the steering wheel and pedals in a way i dislike. the full size trucks with their added width alleviate this issue greatly.

alternatively, a bench front seat wouldn't have the issue at all, lol. hell, ford should throw a long bar stick shift in while they're at it with this design haha (i'll keep dreamin).

i test drove a 6th gen ranger and from what i remember, it being slightly wider than the 5g was potentially better about this cramped driver's area issue. i wish i'd paid better attention to it.

anyway, yeah.. full sizes are gonna be more boat-like than a ranger. i would not get an F-150 without the 5.0L V8 and the 3.73 rear end. anything less isn't peppy enough for me. just my opinion.

Oh. so one thing I do remember not liking about the F150 vs Ranger, over bumpy roads it felt like the body and the frame would be flexing loosly with eachother where the Ranger is more firm letting the suspension work.

I have no idea if this is because I have a Tremor which has way better shocks than the F150 with FX4 but I actually like the way my Ranger drives more than the F150.

Everything about driving it felt "weird". Like the ergonomics were an afterthought. I hate the 5 second throttle delay... my Ranger would blow this thing off the road. And, I pinched a nut on the edge of the seat at least 4 times getting out of that thing.

In 1997, the Air Force put me in a brand new F-350 Crew Cab (6-pack) 4x4 diesel with an 8' bed. After driving it a week as Chief of Wing Weapons Safety, the Flight Safety Officer said he wanted it to replace their Chevy S-10. He said it was because they needed the back seat to haul pilots back from emergency landings. I told him that was fine with me, but you won't like it because it's too big to park anywhere. Two days later, he gave it back to me.

I loved taking that thing down to Gila Bend to inspect the Barry M. Goldwater bombing range. A monthly detail for me. I think the motor was a 7.6 ltr and it could climb trees. Fun truck, but it was like driving a mobile home around.
