Mike is correct. You need to advise the adjuster for the other guys insurance and tell them that you will also be filing a claim for diminished value. In my case, a different adjuster handled that part and it is done after the repairs are made. My hit was relatively minor at $1500. total for the repair, and the DV adjuster came up with another $1500. for diminished value. Don't settle for their first offer. I eventually got them to come up with $2300. but I felt that even that might have been too low. In any event, kindness will work best for you on that part.Hey Neal
Once his insurance co gets in touch with you and you are assigned an adjuster tell them you will be filing a diminished value claim. This is usually done post repairs. The contact I sent you will be able to walk you thru the process. I don't recall your mileage but if its high this may not be an option. Give Danny a call - he is very helpful.
I did this after our 2016 MB GLK got rear ended in 2020. It was a pristine, 1 prev owner vehilce with 20k miles. Danny worked wonders.
