78 years ago young men were sent to beaches to defend Democracy. Some came home to tell their stories...some did not make it home and gave the ultimate sacrifice for this Country! Never forget their sacrifice.

A bit late on this one.

I have been to war.

Been shot at; rocketed, etc.

However, a single call on the radio brought in air power than could/would launch a missle at that cost more than the target would ever make in their life; one that was about to end rather quickly thanks to my good friend(s) the Apache, A-10, or the best of all AC-130

No comparison to what those men faced.

Mad respect for those that came before me.

Badasses. All of them.

I am late as well, but huge respect and much gratitude for all those who have served to fight for the freedoms we have in this country.

Friend of my family that passed in 2021 was at normandy on d day. like several others at the time lied about his age and enlisted. he made it without a scratch in ww2 by God's grace. He went on to be at Okinawa on the tin can philip a fletcher class. he was a good guy and always fair. when i was about 12 he would pay me to polish and wash his classic cris craft constellation. wasnt a bad gig, the boat house across from his was always swarming with bikini girls and his dock had blue cats living right under it. he would feed them a pound of shrimp every saturday morning lol. I got to spend many hours at the helm of his cruiser while he entertained clients for his company. he always offered to pay me to be "captain". i didnt want the money i was having a blast running his boat. I am thankful for the service of so many good people like mr kemp.
