Coopers have been my go-to truck tire for the past 4 sets now, come time for the Ranger they will be the 1st ones I look at! I've had great luck with them for my 2009 RAM 4x4 20" size.

HI Anthony,

Sad to hear that Goodyear bought Cooper....Always though Cooper was excellent...now just a slide down to mediocre to poor tires ahead, I fear....

I did not hear that!
I was originally a Goodyear man in the 80's after I left firestone in H.S. when they were selling to the bridgstone-yoko group they cut all our wages [dick move], so much for my union dues! A lot of us defected to Goodyear and I spent time before joined the military and a few years after when I was in college. In the late 90's they lost me b/c of some bad experences. I've had some good/bad with Bridgestones & yoko's but overall the best was these coopers..
Put these in a 20" stock size on my 2009 Ram, quiet, grippy enough for what I do, wear great, black out.

Glad to hear you've been pleased with your Cooper tires! They certainly build quality products and I wouldn't anticipate any changes in this regard moving forward.

Let us know if you have any questions surrounding the ATP II when the time comes.

Does it have 3PMSF?
I actually checked on this yesterday and the ATP II does not carry the 3PMSF symbol.

That being said though, the ATP II is a strong performer through winter conditions. Under 3rd party testing this model scored 4.5 out 5 with winter grip. To put that scale into perspective, 3 is average performance for tires in the category with 5 being top rated.

No 3 peak rating, looks like travelstar AT’s with Cooper on the side. Decent rain siping though. Never understood why Cooper made the ATP for discount/Big O and then brought back the old AT3 for Walmart. The 4s is within $30-$40/tire and superior in every way. Other than saving a few bucks there is no reason to buy them over any mainstream name AT’s

2019 2WD XL - All stock with no leveling. 265/75R16 Cooper ATP II installed. No rubbing at either steering direction and no change in performance or MPG. Outstanding tire. Very quiet smooth ride, and great traction off road. Perfect compromise between highway and off road tire with an aggressive design and reasonable price.

Very pleased. Great job and design Cooper!

Mcssls

Goodyear and Kelly have always been in cahoots. Cooper is like a tire whore. They’ve made tires with many other manufacturers names on them. The whole business is like that.

That was my thought. I've never had good luck with Good Year tires. In my experiences they've been over priced an under performers.

Thank you for choosing Discount Tire, John!

We appreciate you sharing your initial impressions; nice pick with the white letters facing out :sunglasses: Glad to hear the new ATPII is working well for you.

Hi Bob,

This is correct, 265/60R-18 is not a production size under this line. If you click the "TIRE SIZES" option under the product info you can view all the sizes offered.

My apologies for the delayed response here @myothercarizahearse.

The main differences between the Discoverer ATP II and the Discoverer AT3 4S are the tread pattern, sidewall design and rubber compounding. It's important to call out that the AT3 4S only comes in standard load (SL) construction whereas the ATP II comes in both SL and Light Truck (LT) construction, in certain sizes.

Overall performance between the two, when comparing SL to SL sizing, is very comparable however the AT3 4S does slightly edge out the ATP II when it comes to winter performance. The AT3 4S does carry the 3PMSF rating while the ATP II does not. That being said though, the ATP II is a strong performer through winter conditions. Under 3rd party testing this model scored 4.5 out 5 with winter grip. To put that scale into perspective, 3 is average performance for tires in the category with 5 being top rated. The AT3 4S scores 5 out 5.
