I know that apple won't allow direct connection to a car's bluetooth. However, has anyone been able to figure out a work around to allow this? I've read about using bluetooth dongle - I would love to leave my phone at home more often but would like to be able to receive/make calls via the ranger and stream music. TIA

As far as I know the Apple Watch can only connect to a apple device via BT due to security concerns. Also you have to connect via the Watch app as the watch itself does not have any connection UI built in for BT. The watch can only connect to the paired iPhone or iPad it is synced with. I love my Watch but it needs to be in BT range (60-90') for it to have net connection. That being said many functions work without a connection. Best thing is I don't have to find my phone to get alerts, email, or texts, and I can cancel or take phone calls.... shades of Dick Tracy!!

I have the cellular version of the watch and there is a UI for bluetooth within the settings app on the watch. I also connect to blue tooth speakers and other items.
