Blasphamy......you have committted blasphamy by defacing an American Icon !!!!!!!
Shame......for shame on you..........
May the little rubber tire nubbies from 1000 old Chevy suburban tires fall upon thee while next washing your Ranger.......
The blasphemy lies in the creation of the Mustang II. With a 4 banger.

Yeah, but back then it was all we had....at least Ford kept it alive. You had to live back then and experience waiting in line for gas and then only allowed 10 gallons at a time. High performance was a no no....you couldn't even get high test fuel.
I was lucky, being a deputy....we had several gas stations where we could get fuel whenever we needed it....but it was a rough time. I had a 1972 Olds Delta 88 with a 455 at the time and it was scary when gas went from less than $1 to double that overnight for just regular. I was making $8100 a year and that increase really hurt.
Had an 18 foot camper but for almost a year it sat as we couldn't afford to camp or tow behind the Olds due to fuel cost.

Yeah.....I'm driving the 4 door Mustang !!!!!!!!!!!!
You may laugh, but it was exactly like that. When on duty there were times we were called to either follow tanker rigs or be assigned to gas stations when they arrived and unloaded to keep crowds away till they left, and to direct traffic at heavily traveled locations.
Every station only took payment before fuel was pumped to avoid theft.....was very prevelent.

Wow....forgot about the odd/even days....last number in your license tag determined on what day you could get gas....based on the days date....odd or even.

Not necessarily.
Those of us of a certain age will testify to the durability of a B&S motor.

I can't tell you how many times I have cussed the one on my daddy's mower when I was a kid because it would start EVERY FREAKING TIME when I really didn't want it to!
