we have a truck tent that we just got, and one of those add-a-room things to put a small table and chairs if we want to get inside.

we are trying this out for the first time this week. I would like to go the trailer route, but having a hard time getting much traction on that at the moment.

gonna be kinda chilly this week when we're out there, so we'll see how it goes.

A travel trailer/tear drop trailer is probably the route we'll go once we get out west. It just needs hvac...

Until retirement when we go all in on a class A...

You can get A/C and heat in something the size of a teardrop and be well under 2k lbs.

Personally haven't felt the need for A/C since mine ventilates as well as it does. Heat is a different story and I'll be going the diesel-heater-in-a-box route. What I've been doing so far is relying on an electric blanket, but that only works so much (and does nothing for the humidity and condensation).

At some point, I might end up with a bigger trailer to satisfy aging bodies (and especially bladders), but I doubt we'll ever go all in on a monster RV/travel trailer.

palomino makes a slide in that fits the ranger. its ok. but its pretty pricey for what you get in my opinion. id rather have a trailer. lot more options and when you dont wanna use it just unhook. no taking the camper off the truck and all that shenanigans

I have a teardrop from NuCamp that I was towing behind a Subaru Outback for two summers. It’s about 14’ long, 6’ wide, with a king-ish size bed inside and a rear galley. I think it runs around 1500lbs wet weight. It actually towed well behind the Outback but it was a little gutless on hills and whatnot. This will be my first summer towing it behind the Ranger but it’s a great little camper for sure. Plus I can leave it to hold a campsite and take the tow vehicle exploring. That’s an overlooked feature you lose with RTT, slide-ins, etc.
