i drove a wrangler probably 5 or 6 years ago on a test drive. started the test drive in the rain, but it stopped raining midway through. I came up on a turn and had a green light, and the road was definitely still very wet, but i was shocked at how quickly it lost traction and i went sideways into oncoming lanes (fortunately no one was oncoming). i wasn't hooning the thing, i was just taking what was a normal predictable turn that was in an area i was very familiar with. i got back to the dealer without further incident, but quickly declined to buy and left.https://www.motortrend.com/news/are-jeep-wranglers-safe-crash-test-results/#:~:text=NHTSA subjected the Wrangler to,stars for a front imp
I can recall being behind Jeep Wrangers some years back in an intense rainstorm and on 2 occasions seeing them hydroplane badly and go into a slide, one rolling over, they were driving too fast for the conditions for sure but seeing the lack of control on the slick highway was scary.
i really cannot emphasize how surprising the skid was. i goof off in parking lots sometimes and like to have fun, so i have a little bit of a sense of what is normal driving and what is horsing around. i was just keepin it simple that day, not even trying to push the limits.
