I didn't even notice this until about 8 days after picking it up from the body shop, but they reinstalled my Mountains2Metal grill insert backwards. I can't even access the fasteners like this. I have a feeling they installed the grill insert before they reattached the bumper. Anybody have an idea how to correct this? I really don't want to leave it at the body shop to fix this if possible. It could take 15 minutes, could take 2 hours.

The lower bumper fascia comes off independently from the bumper itself. There are (I think) 5 10mm bolts that run along the bottom edge of the light grey piece, and then 5 plastic fasteners that live along the underside of the upper lip of the black part. (just below the license plate bracket, behind the incorrectly installed part). There are also 2 10mm bolts that attach the license plate bracket on the underside.

You *might* be able to get to these fasteners, but the way they installed that part... it'll be a struggle.

Good luck!

If you already own a ratchet with extensions and swivel joints then it should be a 10mm hex-head bolt if the OE bolts were reused. Or a 10mm / (3/8") crows foot. Not sure a crows foot would snake in without too much bending but a socket with swivel might.

Otherwise fascia is coming off!

Thanks for the replies. Just in case there is no confusion, the fasteners holding the grill insert are those two-piece plastic doodads. The damn thing took all of 5 minutes to install it when I got it.

Ahh I see. I have the Putco lower grille and it re-uses the license plate bracket hardware. Wrongly assumed yours was the same. I think your best bet is to unfortunately remove the fascia or ask the shop to do it. You run too much risk breaking something with reverse prying action in my opinion.

Yeah, looking like a call to the shop.

Went to the body shop this morning, took them about an hour but they fixed it. Now I feel so much better!
