Finally got my truck back......almost 4 months later.....
My service advisor initially helped me with ford corporate, then when he needed to send details to them for the repair he would ghost them or forget to cc them. Incredibly frustrating. Took them 3 weeks to get the approval for the tear down of the transmission. Then another 2 (thanks to the service advisor) to get the tear down done, then 2 weeks to order parts. After that I was told it was next in line to get fixed.......service advisor gets fired my truck is in limbo. Previous advisor tells me after the approved trans rebuild (new valve body and trashcan) they would warranty it for three years.....
Yesterday when I pick the truck up and get the 48% discount from ford corporate they inform me its only for the valve body and the can for 2 years. Anyways, will be calling the ford rep Monday morning to explain my displeasure of the dealer. Small dealers are great to by trucks from, but I will never use them for large repairs again. Having serious doubts about the reliability of this truck for the remote work I do.....

Sorry to hear how bad it went. I hate to say it but it sounds like the typical ford dealer scenario. hopefully its fixed for many thousands of miles

Sorry to hear about your experience at the dealer. I too, have been concerned about the longevity of my transmission post valve body repair so I ended up getting the Ford Protect ESP warranty.

Hoping it works great for both of us, but if any of the parts from Ford even have a slight chance of being machined wrong, I hope it will last thru the warranty period and then some.

Sucks to have to go back in for trans work again, fingers crossed…

Just slogged through this whole thread. Thank you Brandon for sharing your experience. Bad deal for you. That's clear. Now for those of us with the ESP, we have to decide if it's worth waiting 4 freekin months to get a factory defect fixed. I know for me that would be a deal breaker. I bought my Ranger for an expected 5 years or so of no problem towing my retirement travel trailer. 4 months in service, even for no cost would hurt like ever. Gotta think about this now.
