Hey Michelle, I have the Westin Drop Step Nerfs, which are similar to those Rough Country steps.Has anyone purchased these and do you prefer bars or steps?
Excellent thoughts to consider! Thank u!Hey Michelle, I have the Westin Drop Step Nerfs, which are similar to those Rough Country steps.
I had two things to consider:
I find they look better on a truck that sits up quite high. I feel they looked too low with my stock wheels before I installed the lift and 32” tires. (see my build thread)
- Taller tires and 2-1/2” level - truck sits high
- My height (6’) and long legs
Flat bars look good on stock setups because they don’t fill up the space between the rocker panels and the road surface. They look more sleek where they need to be.
I also had to worry about having my knee up around my ear when getting out and the lower drop step makes it easier for me and my 34” inseam.
So, depending on your personal needs, personal tastes, and suspension/tires, you’ll have your own opinions.
What tires did you replace for stock tires? I have a 3 inch level on my Ranger.I like the Hex Steps from DeeZee. I've had both kinds of assists on trucks and just prefer the steps over the flat bar or rail. https://www.deezee.com/product/hex-side-step/

I’m leaning toward the step rails after seeing the pics posted. They look very nice! ????I went with the N-Fab Epyx which is similar. I like the close fit to the body that this style has.![]()
