Hey guys,
Love my Ranger Raptor — running 35s with a fair few mods done. But I was on a beginner track recently with a bit of mud and water and the car dropped into limp mode with a "Service Charge" error. It went DRIVE → NEUTRAL → PARK and left me stranded for a good 10+ hours with no power to the car until I could get it towed out.
Turns out it's the alternator — it sits low and copped mud/water ingress and isn't a sealed alternator.
My question: has anyone made or fitted a guard for the Raptor alternator — rubber or stainless, covering the front/sides/bottom — to shield it from mud and water spray? I've lost a bit of confidence after this and don't want a repeat.
More than happy to have a chat and pay someone to sort this, as I reckon it'd make a huge difference. Cheers.
