I have a 2021 Ranger Lariat Super crew 4x4. It has the B&O sound system. Recently the volume level has been dropping off. I used to be able to listen to it just fine at a level of about 7-8 while driving and the bass thumping. I now have to turn it up to around 13-17 to hear it decently while driving. The bass is not as pronounced anymore. I messed with the speed compensated volume going from Off to Low, Medium, and High with no change in the volume level at any of these settings. When I first start the truck up the volume is loud and I have to turn it back down to the 7-8 level, but then it drops down so low that I have to turn it back up to the 13-17 levels again. Before anyone asks, my hearing is fine...lol. I'm leaning towards it being an amp issue, but wanted to check and see if anyone else is having these same issues. I did take it to the Ford dealership where I bought it and they said they had to do a software upgrade, but it did not fix the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, the volume does lower with the HD channel, but would that also affect the volume when I'm using my itunes via Bluetooth? It's just strange that it never did this at all for the first couple of months after I bought my truck, now it happens all the time no matter what source I'm using.

Same problem. Did you ever resolve the issue? Volume is 50% decreased no matter what source I am using. It sounds terrible. If I push the sound to the back it is muffled and almost non existent. I have reset to factory condition. Upgraded the software. Took it in to the dealer. They agree that there is a problem with the sound level, but don't know why. I also have changed the fuses to no avail. Very frustrating for a premium stereo system. Anyone that has experienced this with b&o system in there Ford Lariat 2019 please reach out. Thanks

Some streaming channels do this when using my phone. Never with USB music or the radio.

I have not had it back into the dealer yet, but I will tell you that I ended up unplugging one of the cables from the amp behind the back seat and plugged it back in. As soon as I plugged it back into the amp, the volume increased immediately, but then started to drop off again after a few minutes. I did this several times all with the same results. I'm going with an amp issue, possibly the wiring, but leaning more towards the amp. Hope this helps you. Try this and see if you get the same results.

Let me know what the dealer says. I also think that it is an amp issue. I unplugged the amp wire also, say result. Also when I take out the fuse it will increase the sound for a minute and go back to a decreased level. Hope they figure this out. Btw..I am using a digital player through usb, but regular radio is decreased also. All sources decreased in sound.

Anyone get any useful info back on this issue? I've recently took my Ranger in for this very problem. I got the dealer to order amp proactively however they didn't install because there were no audio problem codes popped up. I found that strange but they said there would have to be a "Technical reason" to replace amp otherwise Ford would not warranty the cost of amp. I didn't like hearing this. They are leaving service writeup open to see what Ford peeps say what next option would be. FORD basically has to pre approve the new amp install so the dealer doesn't eat the cost. Hate dealing with all the BS of this. Seem like would just do what they can to fix for customer, especially since the truck was only purchased new 6 months ago.

Thanks for the update. Oddly I unplugged all of the cables from the amp and have noticed a small increase in sound. Still need to have the volume up between 18 and 22. When it was working correctly 15 would be plenty loud. Also, the front sensor or all the sensor sound has diminished also. Don’t know if it’s connected. Ford dealership also has no clue. Luckily I leased the truck and have a new Lariat being built.

So FYI all.
I finally got the Ranger back and yes....it was the AMP that was the issue. They call the AMP a DSP. Either way its fixed now. Hope this helps anyone having this same type of issue in the future.

Is the amp wired or can you just unplug the existing cables? Also it is the one behind the backseat drivers side correct? Thanks and I’m sure you’re enjoying your stereo now that it’s fixed. Thanks for updating us.

Do any of you have the docs or logs the dealership used for justification. I have the same issue, but the dealership is clueless how to troubleshoot since the DSP isn't throwing an error. If its not in their step by step document, they will not test.
