I’m adjusting to them as well. You all have pointed out more positives than I thought of at first. That’s why I started the thread.
Also, I definitely don’t equate my truck with a pig, but judging from all the responses, the title worked as I’d hoped ?

Things like steps on a truck can't be the proverbial 'lipstick on a pig' type thing IMO. They're all function.

A giant stick on hoodscoop is lipstick on a pig. Brand new chrome molding on a vehicle with rotten bumpers and no rockers is lipstick on a pig. Black rhino wheels on anything is lipstick on a pig..

More like love handles on a pig.

I have the GoRhino RB20 running boards, i quite like them as they stick out enough that lesser vehicles' doors will hit those before dinging my truck. My wife also appreciates them, as to my vertically challenged friends.

That being said, I don't use them for anything other than washing the top of the truck.
Looking at picking those up for mine, though it is funny watching the wife try and get in...but I don't need anything else to be my fault, so I am getting some. I've seen some videos of Rangers with them and they look pretty slick. Any negatives?

Not really, they do exactly what I wanted and they look pretty good too. Only hiccup i had was during install, i seen to recall getting two different sets of hardware only one of which was usable so that threw me off for a second.

My recently acquired 2022 Lariat has running boards, which I was at first ambivalent about. Now I'm starting to think they are more of a PITA than they are worth. First, I don't need them to get into the truck, unlike my F150 that was enough taller to make it necessary. Second, when I try to get out, I have to either force myself to use the running boards or drag my calf on them getting out. That's all well and good when they are clean, but the spring slop in Iowa will soon eliminate that possibility. That means I'll end up cleaning a small area with the back of my now formerly clean trousers. ?

At this point, I'm seriously considering taking them off and seeing if I like that better. They seem to be more cosmetic than utilitarian on a stock ride-height Ranger, which is what mine will remain...I'm somewhat vertically challenged. What do the rest of you think?
I’m keeping my chrome running boards. Love them. My short wife loves them more!!
