By fat, do you mean fast?
By 3.2 do you mean 2.3?

Or are you talking about boring the 2.3 liter out to be a 3.2 liter, literally making the pistons fat and by extension the truck fast?
We have 3.2L 5 cylinder diesel engines over here mate and fatis the width

Hi buddy my ranger is a 3.2L 5 cylinder engine and when I said fat I ment wide
I'm very interested in talking to fellow ranger inthu

Hi buddy my ranger is a 3.2L 5 cylinder diesel engine and fat is the width I'd like to know how you guys over there in the US get more out of your engines or you leave them stock because what I've seen just from this site you guys spend a lot of time on the look and nothing on the motor get back to me and maybe trade ideas
There are a number of threads on tuning the 2..3 as well as additional mods (cat back exhaust, new intercooler pipes, CAI, etc):

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/forums/2-3l-ecoboost-engine-exhaust-tuning-bolt-ons.5/

There is even a Ranger here - @13 Second Ranger - and he has hit his goal and is shooting higher:

Lots of performance postings.....

Now I understand. Thanks for that. As it was stated, the US gets one engine. The 2.3 liter Eccoboost. The ONLY thing I have done to my XLT Ranger engine is purchase the Lariat engine cover. Without the engine cover imho, the 2.3 looks like an Autobot spewed in the engine bay.

Up until this point, there is not a whole lot on the market here to increase power. The 2.3 Ecco in the Ranger shares DNA with the 2.3 liter in the Mustang and Focus. So far, the Ranger options are nowhere near the level of those other applications.

Some of the options I have seen and read about here for the Ranger gas engine
  • A couple of air intake options.
  • Company’s are now coming out with turbo upgrades.
  • A couple choices for oil catch cans.
  • A lot of exhaust options.
The most common (after exhaust work) is loading an engine tune into the truck.

of course none of that helps you with your 3.2 liter diesel tuning. I wonder why that engine is not an option for us?

I used to travel to Europe for work frequently. I would rent Diesel cars that were not sold in the US, but we had gas engines in the same models. I chalked that up to the petroleum company’s do not offer diesel everywhere gas is sold. It is around, but you may need to drive out of your way to fill the tank. If I could have bought a diesel, I probably would have done so now that I’m retired. I have more time on my hands to plan a trip to fill my tank!

I'm pretty sure the reason the US doesn't get the same diesel options other countries have is because of differing fuel economy and emissions regulations.

Honestly I don't know if in Australia you have the 2.3 ecoboost engine. But for those who do know, this engine does not need much added to it. It's the fastest Mid Size truck in the states right now. It's so fun to drive.
