Aftermarket exhaust vs. Fuel mileage

Would an aftermarket exhaust system have any negative effect on fuel mileage? I know there’s a good chance I’d drive a little more aggressively in order to make some noise once in a while but if my driving style never changed, would I see any difference?

Depending on the exhaust you have a lot of benefits from performance to better mpg. Just installed one on my ranger (MBRP black series cat back) I noticed a better mpg overal . Aftermarket exhaust flow better then stock which is why mpg increases. Now you will get a lot people telling you about vibration and ford this and that but it's all preference. The one I got is tame and way better sounding then stock and looks better.

Thanks! When I come across the right deal I'll order something up! I'm definitely leaning toward MBRP as they aren't too far away from me.

I just put on last Monday a Borla dual chrome exhaust and so far like the sound much better. It's only been a week so I don't know about whether there is better mileage or more power with the new exhaust yet.
