I should have been so lucky.Duke, same to you!
A man who lived next to a train station most of his life was awakened every night at 2:00 PM when the train passed through. Finally the train run was cancelled and the very next night the man woke up and said "what was that?" Last night for the 1st time in my life fireworks did not go off in my neighborhood at midnight so I woke up then and said "what was that?"
I heard a single firework go off at around 9:00 PM and thought this will kick it off and get ready for a barrage. But amazingly not another firework sound all night? This has never happened here before. I live close to the city dam which has a huge arroyo coming out of it and they can go down into it and pop illegals off without being seen and getting caught by the city patrols. On July 4th it started before dark and didn't end until 2:00 AM.I should have been so lucky.
Damned fireworks started just after dark and continued off and on through midnight. Dogs were terrified and none of us slept worth a damn.
I don't miss that at all! Every 4th of July, Christmas and New Years this would go on there 3 days prior and 3 days after on all those holidays. I have no problem the night of the holiday but come on man enough is enough.I should have been so lucky.

I don't drink anymore either and it was nice to wake up this morning with a clear head.Happy New Year to all you Ranger Owners and families! We had a ton of fireworks around my neighborhood. Some very loud ones from 11:30 until 1:00. Thank God I don't drink anymore it would have been worse. Tomorrow is Lucille's 4th birthday.
