2019 Ranger with 265 60 18 Wildpeaks

My 2019 has door sticker stating 30 psi, Falken says 51 psi for this tire. So I be running 30 or 51?

Im currently cold at 38 or 39 psi

51 psi is the maximum pressure the tire was designed to operate safely. 30 psi is the recommended pressure for the stock size tire, which you have. If you were to inflate to 51 psi, you may run the risk of a blowout or tread separation in hot conditions and/or heavy payload. Tires pressure can increase 8 or more psi as they get warm, so you could have upwards of 60 psi when the tire is warm.

The TPMS readings won't necessarily be the same as an air gauge reading until the tires have had a chance to rotate awhile. I check mine cold with an accurate gauge after the truck has sat overnight. the TPMS readings usually settle in about 1-2 psi above the air gauge readings after a half mile or so.

The reply was very diplomatic. If you read the tire sidewall to get your Falken specification, you missed the word “maximum” right next to 51 psi.

I actually adjusted tire pressures based on my Driving/Weather/Road-Conditions/Loaded/Unloaded.

OE 255/65R17
30psi
Went to:
Front - 32psi
Rear - (D)30 psi (P) 28 psi [empty]
Rear - WINTER> (D) 28 psi (P) 26 psi [empty] Or less with snow/ice

NOW
PLUS-Sized
275/60R18

Front - 34psi
Rear - (D)28 psi (P)26 psi [empty]

I had to drop rear tire pressures, cause during wet & snow conditions the back end wanted to step out...

I've never once looked at a door sticker or a sidewall for recommended tire pressure on any car/truck I've ever owned. I've put 32lbs in them and watched them for irregular wear and/or rough ride and adjusted the pressure from there. Other than the odd occurrence they've stayed at 32.

I had 285 70 17 wildpeaks and I ran 35psi cold all the time. Tried 40psi for a trial run and the ride was kinda harsh. Lower than 35 and the sidewall got mushy and had too much lean in corners and during evasive steering.
