Hi All
Just wondering if anyone can stear me in the right direction.
I have a 2019 ranger with the 3.2L motor.
Recently more so when it warms up the idel drops down around 100 revs and then it appears normal for a while and dose the same thing again.
To try and explain this it's like a minor misfire or engine mermor.
Car has been serviced only recently, could this be related to fuel filter not being changed?
There dosnt appear to be any issues when I'm driving that i can notice it's just when it's idling.

I have had previous rangers with same motor and never had any problems.
I thing there has been similar posts out there with people saying this gets worse it not fixed.

Thanks

Given that this is primarily a US based forum and we only have the 2.3L ecoboost, might not get a ton of useful help here. That being said, it could be something as simple as a vacuum leak. I've had similar symptoms in the past on other vehicles when one of my vacuum lines got old and actually pinched itself off

Thanks for getting back to me.
Hopefully someone else may may be able to help with this current issue.
Maybe it's related to the fuel filter.
One other thing I didn't mention is motor has only low 89,000 Km,s.

I second the Vacuum Leak as a more likely cause, as they tend to be more pronounced at Idle.
Fuel Filter is the opposite, clogged fuel filter will starve the engine more at higher RPM's when the extra fuel is needed.
Now it can still be clogged and cause Low Idle, but it would also be noted that the engine will struggle or hesitate when increasing RPM's
For these types of engine running (idle) issues the only true way to diagnose is with a scan tool and look at Live Data - Fuel Trim Tables etc.

You stated it was recently serviced - What was Done? and was it taken in for this issue?
I am assuming you had the Fuel Filter Replaced and are questioning if they actually replaced it.

Thanks for your response.
So car went in for service about 2-3 weeks ago and Not for this issue.
As i haven't used this mechanic before I'm always sceptical of there works and if they carry out all the works they claim too.
When I picked up car after service if run fine and couldn't really notice anything.
Another thing I failed to mention on the very very odd occasion it take a little longer to start.
So do know if this could be related.

Try to drain the water trap in the bottom of the fuel filter if you have one.
