Hi all,
I've owned my 2019 Lariat for a little over a year. It has low mileage at about 6k and I've had no real issues until now:
The Ford startup chime starts as soon as I unlock and open the door and will not stop until I start it up. It seemingly drives fine after that.
However, when I attempt to shut it down, the dash lights, parking light, contol panel, sync display, and tail lights stay on even after exiting the truck, closing and locking the doors. Normally, I kill the engine, exit, and lock it up via remote and watch the cab lights dim down right away. Now the lights stay on, similar to when I eat lunch in my truck and turn on interior power to listen to music.
The lights do eventually turn off after about five minutes, but it starts all over again when I drive it.
I'm thinking about pulling battery cables and trying again but I don't want to lose my settings and have to enter code (I would also like to confirm this here).
My apologies for the long post but I'm hoping my explanation makes sense. Any help is greatly appreciated.

meh, re doing codes is a small price to pay to have your truck shut down properly.
To be safe, I wanted to check in with the Ranger brain trust before pulling cables, understanding it was probably not a big deal.
But thanks for the prompt and super-cool response, it is very helpful.

Do you have push button start? It seems like it thinks the key is at all times. I would try to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes or so. I've seen disconnecting fix lots of weird electrical problems.

Yep, it's push button. I will give this a shot tomorrow and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the reply.

Hopefully it works but it seems like maybe the button is stuck in the accessories position.

Pulled cables and waited this morning.....no dice, still the same. I'm taking it in Thursday morning, I have a few recall items to address anyway. I'll keep you posted.

Quick update - before dropping my truck off at the dealer, I noticed my driver side window would not auto-open or close with one swipe. I had to manually hold the button to fully close the window.
I dropped it off and got a call about four hours later, my truck is 'fixed'. The technician proceeded to explain that he 'recalibrate' the power window sequences and that seemed to have solved the shutting down issue. Who knows, I'll chalk it up to an electrical glitch, I'm just glad to have her back and it's nothing major.

Anytime the battery is disconnected for any length of time the auto-open/close window module has to be reset. Power loss causes the anti-pinch sensor for the window to reset and will not allow the window(s) to automatically open/close until a full manual cycle has been completed. Odd that doing this reset also resolved the welcome tone issue.
