Hey all, posting on here as somewhat of a cry for help. I have a 2019 Fx4 Crew Cab and for the past 8-10,000 miles or so I have been experiencing some concerning transmission issues covered throughout this site - bucking at low speeds, gear hunting, hesitation between gears especially in the 3 through 6 range, seemingly random downshifts, and gear banging on upshifts. Not sure if I am just wearing the tinfoil hat, but I have never driven another car or truck whose transmission performed this poorly (even other Fords).

I just replaced the DPFE sensor hoping for a remedy but unfortunately it did virtually nothing. I just hit 75,000 miles and had the fluid changed at 50 (which I know may not have been extremely necessary). The truck is on bigger tires than factory (33's) but I adjusted the computer through ProCal to accommodate as soon as they went on, 40,000 miles ago.

Reaching out to you all to ask if anyone has experienced similar issues that led to failure or another major issue, or found a solution different than the DPFE.

Any help/insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

More than likely valve body issues. Fluid gets dirty from particulates and valves wear and slow down. SW adapts to the slower valve transitions masking the issues until the valves begin to stick.
Change the fluid again and add LubeGard Platinum. It cured my problems and I had to change my fluid at 18K miles (purchased truck new). I plan to change it every 20K or at the first signs of trouble.

Transmission is now shifts silky smooth. It took several fluid changes in my case to clean out the old fluid. After the first change my shifts were 95% better. After the 3rd change I'm at 92% new fluid and the last of my issues cleared up.... (transmission was slightly slow in releasing coming to a stop).

Shifts like new now. 28K on the odometer and about 7K miles since the 3rd fluid change.

Likely needs transmission overhaul. Have them do a hydraulic pressure test on the tranny. If it fails it is likely CDF Drum and/or valve body. Your clutch rings will be all scorched and there will be metallic material in your fluid from the clutch rings as well.

That sucks , If the rest of the truck is still in great shape, I would consider a new transmission.

If DPFE solved your bucking issues, you had an emission control failure...

Shifting issues ARE related to transmission failure...sad but welcome to the club...

I am going through the same things. I changed the transmission fluid, had the dealership run a scan and was told to replace the DPFE sensor. I didn't change the DPFE sensor yet but I did notice the battery was running a lower voltage.. I replaced the battery and everything started working like new! I have had lots of good folks reply to me on this issue and told me all sorts of technical reasons this wouldn't work but hey! So far so good I've had the battery in for 5 days now and everything is working great! No bucking around, nice and smooth, pulls my 4500# boat easily, I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I don't think the transmission fluid helped but it seemed like a good idea anyway as there often is contaminates left in motors after manufacturing.
Good luck but check out the battery, my truck only has 50 K kilometers or 30,000 miles but it is 5 years old and the batteries life expectancy is 3 to 5 years.

Just got my truck from the dealership and I took them all the info I could find on here. They changed the DPFE sensor and it fixed my issue. The guy at the dealership said he had two other trucks he was going to try it on and see if that helps. Im just glad it helped mine. Today is the 2yr anniversary of when I first got it.
