SOLVED!
I snagged a used visor from eBay, from a 2021 Ranger for $29.46 plus shipping. It was really easy to replace the damaged visor. You'll need a really small flat blade screwdriver and a 9/32 socket wrench.
There is a small cover over the mounting point of the visor.
Move the visor out...
I was thinking of the "What did you do to your truck today" thread and it got me off on what I need to do and I keep slacking on.
Here is GLOCKer's list of Ranger stuff he needs to do but keeps putting off:
Clean up and paint roof trim where the black has flaked off the aluminum.
Replace my...
My wife drove an hour north to try some other towns beach out. We stopped and had a nice brunch before hotting the beach. No issues with the truck!
We left the beach, ended up on the turnpike, no issues. After about 45 minutes, I let off the gas as I approached a slower vehicle, and after...
I'm considering options for my Ranger, and I'd like to know if anybody has experience putting their own OEM system together with parts from eBay. If you did this, was it as easy as hooking it all up and taking it to the dealership to get flashed for your VIN? Thank you!
ETA: Also, if I go...
I have the very basic Sync 3 model radio (little screen) and I'm interested in upgrading to something android auto/appl carplay compatible that can display navigation. But I'd like to keep full functionality after Ford Sync3, steering wheel buttons, etc.
Is that possible without swapping out...
I was driving home from work and the truck started bucking badly and wouldn't accelerate bast 26 MPH. Things kept getting worse and worse as I was trying to limp the truck just a little bit further to the house. I was getting errors on the dash for:
Terrain Management System Fault...
I went to hook up the rear camera for my new dash cam in the back window of my truck, and I discovered that the rear defroster connection for the wire had failed at some point. It looks like solder joints and that they just fell off! I'll try to remember to snag some photos.
Ughhhhhhh. Just a mere two weeks after a road-rager struck my wife's new Bronco Sport on purpose, a young lady drove her Honda into my Ranger while I was on a quick work errand. I estimate $3500 to $5000 in damages to her car, while I'd say I got off pretty damn lucky.
On the downside, I feel...
I'm thinking about getting a catch can for my Ranger, and figuring out hot to reinstall the one I had on my Mustang before I supercharged it with the supercharger setup. I'm interested in seeing what options are out there for these trucks!
I was driving home from work the other day when I encountered this condition:
1. Traffic started accelerating, so I started accelerating.
2. Driver in front of me tagged his brakes briefly, so I lifted off throttle.
3. Driver in front of me accelerated, so I stopped lifting from throttle and...
I haven't been getting email notifications on watched threads and such from Ranger5G for roughly a month (or more?). Usually, that's how I end up browsing the forum daily, and it occurred to me that I haven't been around for awhile and I haven't been getting notifications. I checked both my...
I will probably order Raptor spray coating to finish the Bushwacker fender flares I got from @OFC Ranger. My Ranger is Magnetic Gray, and I'm trying to decide on either black or gray Raptor coat for the fender flares. It's a bit of a shot in the dark, but has anybody used the Basalt Gray...
@OFC Ranger passed on some nice Bushwacker fender flares, and I will modify them to fit around the Safari snorkel and ARB bumper on my Ranger. My intention is to use a plastic putty to smooth out the seams where I make the modifications, scuff all of the flares, and then shoot them in spray-can...
This thread may make some people cringe, but I promise, it wasn't bad at all. ?
I don't know if this is better here in the Tires/Wheels/Brakes section or if it would be better in the suspension section, but here you go:
I originally attacked the stock driver side intrusion beam with my...
I was washing my truck off yesterday after a little day trip to go wheelin' in it, and I noticed this paint damage on the hood:
My inclination is to sand it to bare metal where it's flaking up, clean it up really well, and then cover it with touch-up paint. It wont be the prettiest repair...
I used to work at a dealership (for a couple of months) but I don't any more! I'm wondering what to expect to have the fluid changed in the front and rear diffs, and to have the fluid and filter changed in the transmission.
I have a basic understanding of the issue with hub-centric wheels and fitment. I'm getting a set of Black Rhino Armory wheels for my Ranger. Will I need hub rings for them? Thank you!
This is very cool and useful for us short 5" and 6" Ranger bed guys (and ladies). But damn, it's cost prohibitively expensive!
The fully loaded version for our trucks that features a color matched outer skin, the two cameras (one functions as normal and one acts as a reverse camera when the...
