And the dash cubby on the 2014+ Cherokee is a little deeper which makes it more useful. I do miss my 2016 Cherokee at times. But I needed a truck more and the dealer gave me a good trade in value when I bought my 2020 Ranger XLT FX4 in March of 2021.
I agree that thing is hideous looking. The only way I would be interested in it would be a single cab or possible an old style extended cab with no rear doors or rear seats.
The power grid is one of the major hurdles. California is a prime example of why going all EV won't work (at this time). California has been having brown outs and blackout due to too many people trying to charge their EV'S at the same time, mostly during summer.
Another factor is not everyone...
This is true if you are looking at the 2 wheel drive versions of each. Otherwise the Maverick is all wheel drive and the Ranger is part time 4 wheel drive.
All wheel drive does pretty well in snow, but I agree that 4 wheel drive is the way to go for most off roading. My Jeep Renegade and Cherokee did just fine in deep snow and ice. My son's Jeep Compass Trail Hawk does well too. All three are fine for mild off roading.
The only way I'll have an...
Plus I never said how useful or not the power distribution screen actually is on the Ranger. All I said was that I have the screen and it functions as it should.
I doubt that I have anything broken inside my transfer case unless it came broken from the factory. The power distribution screen has worked as it should since day one when I first bought the truck.
But hey you do you and I'll do me. We will just have to agree to disagree. And if you can't do...
Really???????
From what we are seeing the power distribution screen was added in 2020 as those that do not have it own 2019 models.
The power distribution screen works just fine on my 2020 XLT FX4. Granted no one ever said that it shows power distribution to each wheel because it does not...
Good point on not knowing the type or quality of material used to make the cheaper boxes.
The thing about a lot of Chinese manufacturers is that they will make products to what ever specs a customer wants. So quality can be from very good to very poor depending on what the customers want and...
I'm willing to bet that Under Cover has their boxes made in China and the Chinese factory decided to start making the boxes for other people. I did a search on Amazon and several different sellers/brands popped up.
This kind of thing happens all the time.
Hmmmm it' starting to look like the power distribution screen wasn't available on the 2019 FX4. There are at least three of you with 2019 FX4's that don't have that screen available.
Dissimilar metals are fun to deal with when they seize up. I have had to beat aluminum rims from vehicles due to people not rotating there tires enough and never coating the rims with anti seize where they contact the steal hubs.
I am at a loss on why some of you do not have the power distribution screen with your FX4 since it should be available and working.
I do have the 302A package but that should not effect anything with the FX4 package. The 302A package adds the following features:
Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror...
You should have both off road (angle) and power distribution screens active and working with the factory FX4 package. Both screens work fine on my 2020 XLTFX4 and all other FX4's I'vs looked at.
The power distribution screen will only show distribution between the front and rear axles. It will...
And the HMMV geared hubs do NOT last very long when constantly driven at 65 MPH or faster. The military HMMV's are governed at 55 MPH state side and governed at 65 MPH overseas. We had to constantly replace the geared hubs while overseas due to drivers constantly driving 65 MPH.
I ordered my Ford Redarc brake controller directly from Ford in March 2023 and also paid for installation at that time which was $252.00. The dealership didn't argue with that even though it took them close to four hours to do the install.
I had a bunch of Ford Pass Points saved up so the...
My personal preference is for a wired connection. I have used blue tooth OBD2 readers and they tend to lose connection a bit. A lost connection is one thing when reading codes but it can be bad if trying to write to the computer modules.
Big Bear Lake is a beautiful area. I went there while I was stationed at Ft. Irwin. I went during the 4th of July weekend and it was around 110 degrees at the bottom and around 75 degrees up at the lake. I nearly froze when I first got out of my vehicle once at the lake.
