This would be my first guess.
Crack in the metal, or a tear in a boot.
But without knowing what happened and what has already been replaced, I'd be guessing.
I want to raise the front of my Tremor, by an inch or two. No, I do not want a spacer lift.
I do not want to sacrifice ride quality, suspension travel, or geometry.
Looking at the Fox catalog it looks like the 2.0 front option is:
985-02-133 Fox2.0 Front Coilovers 0-3" lift
Does anyone have...
I have Mishimoto catchcans on my two other vehicles, but I am not attempting this install.
I have XL hands, I know that it is going to be a total bitch and I might even fail.
I had to take the intake manifold off of my Miata to do it.
100% I am going that route instead.
PN 985-02-133 Fox2.0 Front Coilovers 0-3" lift
^ That should be the coilovers that I need based on Fox's catalog.
I've heard the sweet spot is 2", where the coilovers come set from the factory, so I'll be going that route.
I don't mind a bit of rake. I do...
That isn't normal.
I'd inspect, or have your entire steering system inspected.
Steering is 100% a safety item. Get it fixed.
Ford has sold hundreds of thousands of these trucks, the steering absolutely works in single digit weather.
The Livernois tune is excellent. This Ranger is very quick now.
I ordered a bunch of little things over the past few days. I'll try to remember.
Door sill protectors
UPR Crankcase breather
1" level from Ford Ranger Lifts (Debating cancelling and going Fox coilover instead)
LED bulbs
Oil...
Ethanol is not shelf stable though, and what you get out of the pump is in the E50-E90 range. Hence why they say you need to test it first. For me E30 tunes are for Dyno brags.
My brand new 21 Tremor has high oil level and it smells like fuel.
< 200 miles
I'll be switching out to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum at 1,000 miles.
Keeping an eye on it.
I also ordered the UPR crank case breather. I'm curious if that will help.
Without reading 100 pages, is there a tried and...
I put the steps back on and used grip tape to cover the holes, plus allow them to be used as a step. I didn't like the bare look, and I might as well rock em.
I got it at Ace Hardware and it is advertised for boats, RVs, etc, so it should hold up great.
Parking deck shot from the Braves...
I just spoke with a friend who has owned a Ranger and is a fellow gear head/ engineer. He said his fuel contamination in his oil has been high since he has owned it >3%.
I read here that a good ole fashioned crankcase breather helps out a ton.
So I ordered the UPR one.
