I think everyone's mentioned it (except me, I actually forgot), if you push the dial in, it will light up as long as you hold it in. Once you release, the light goes out. Turning on the lights or hitting the brakes doesn't do anything.
Once you put a load on it, the truck "sees" it and will...
I would expect a dealer selling parts to be able to see what my truck was equipped with by looking at the VIN, and then telling me that it don't fit. I didn't provide my VIN so I didn't get the warning, but it didn't matter to me since it was an experiment based on data provided by others on...
I wonder if the wiring and connector are even there to plug into. If I read right, It looks like the 4wd models came with the same wiring harnesses regardless of trim level, but I would think the wiring between a 2wd and 4wd would be significant. Might check before you buy a switch.
Working from memory here, and I'm old, so.......
If I remember right, the wires in my truck were about 4" from the firewall behind a horizontal run of taped wiring harness above the kick panel and about even or just higher than the bottom of the dash. The wires were behind the bundle, and I...
A somewhat different option is Ham/DMR. So, you might buy a fairly inexpensive HT with dual band analog (2m & 70cm) and DMR capabilily. You might use the analog side for local repeaters or simplex, or switch to DMR. With DMR, you might use local DMR repeaters, or you can build or buy a DMR...
I turned both the off road gauge and screen on prior to installing the switch, and then turned on selectable drive mode after. I doubt it matters with selectable drive mode since you need to press the button to change it.
There is a list in the wiki showing most of it. I did find that...
This was the main driver for my interest in TM. Figured the low cost was worth the risk of trying it out.
Thanks for the description of this particular capability.
I don't know. I'm not an off roader so wasn't interested in FX4. But, if I can get TM for the cost of a $57 switch, and about 5 minutes to install the switch and another 5 minutes to enable.........
But, to each his own.
It looks to me like you have it figured out. Where you changed jets, they're altering pulse width on injectors. Where you were reading plugs, they're looking at A/F ratio. One of the biggest differences I see is that today's engine management systems have much better control than our old carbs...
I don't think there's a power difference, but there is a shift firmness difference. In "D", the shifts are more firm than stock although it's really hard to tell under light throttle. WOT just goes. In "S", the first to second shift usually results in wheel spin. If I'm turning and accelerating...
I've had 2 in 2 different trucks.
The first was in my 2011 Ranger with a Softopper on it. I liked it because if you're up in there moving stuff around, it's a lot easier on my old knees. The bed always looked halfway decent even when it really wasn't. While it protects from scratches, be aware...
