  1. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

Unfortunately, you're on your own on that one. I have a super cab, not super crew. My truck only has the side bucket seats (well, not sure what to call them, really). I don't have anything to take apart! Wonder if you could adapt one of the side headrest restraints?
  2. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

Glad it worked for you. Just noticed, we apparently like the same type vehicles..........?
  3. Front CV Axels

Seems like if everyone and his brother are running around 2" lift, there'd be more issues mentioned. So rule that out. Too much negative camber? Didn't look like it in your photos. Improper installation? I've seen folks get pretty rough with half shafts trying to get them in. Only other thing...
  4. Front CV Axels

CV joint boots torn? Doesn't take a lot of sand to trash one. Only other thing I've wondered about is lifts. I've seen where the more extreme lifts have the drive trains changed to compensate. I don't guess the smaller lifts do this but wonder if it has an effect on CV joints.
  5. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

Once the cover is installed, there's no place for the dowel to go. The dowel sticks out into the foam hole and the fabric prevents it from falling out. The dowel could be about 1/4" longer, it's not in there tight. I figured on cutting a thin piece of foam or leather and gluing it to the inside...

  7. 2020 Rear Seat Folding Headrest mod

First, qualify this as know it works for my Ranger, but have no idea if it will work for anyone else's. This may be a case where Ford decided to use 2019 MY remaining parts until depleted, and then revert to a different design. In the Southeast section, the subject of Supercab rear seat...
  8. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

Yes, the covers come apart and go back together fairly easily. While it's hard to see, the "U" shaped plastic stitched to the center and end tabs go under the headrest and tuck into the back side. The back side has a single stiff flat piece of plastic stitched to the cover. It flips under and...
  9. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

Here's a few pics The hole to install a dowel in. While it didn't turn out well, you can see what the dowel operates inside. Here's the headrest disassembled. While not obvious, on the right you can see where the foam is slotted on the left side section that will allow the button to...
  10. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

Hah! My 2020 super cab now has folding headrests! Also makes removal much easier as well! Everything is there except the button and the trimmed hole in the headrest cover. I removed the headrests, removed the cover, cut a piece of 1/2" wooden dowel rod 1-3/4" long and slid them into their...
  11. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

The 2019 owner's manual said something like "may" fold, so I assumed that just the crew cab folds. That's what I get for assuming. I will say that I'm jealous. May have to check to see if they're available and at what cost.
  12. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Not familiar with the Icon thing, but those look like ball studs. You have a rod with a ball cup on the end?
  13. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

Did the light just come on? :)
  14. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

You have to push the button on the other post as well, and at the same time holding both in, before the headrest will move. It's on the same side as the one you are pressing on, just the other post.
  15. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

The front seat headrests do ratchet adjust.
  16. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

That appears to be true for a 2019 super crew, but not for a 2020 super crew. and it doesn't appear to have ever been on the super cabs (like mine). At least according to the 2019 and 2020 owner's manuals. I was curious. I'd love it if the super cabs had folding headrests. The seat backs have a...
  17. Supercab Rear Seat Headrest

There's a button on each post. Did you push them both in?
  18. dull roar

The key is that the clutch disengages at low rpm. In another life, I had a Datsun 280Z with a viscous fan clutch and plastic blades and can tell you exactly what happens when it doesn't disengage and you take it to about 6500 rpm......
  19. 8492 - 2019 Ranger - Trailer Brake Controller Availability

Looks like the OP has his problem solved, always a good thing. Appreciate the response. I purposely was general and broad without much detail. I can never tell how much others know, or even what they want to know. I "think" I got across that you need something back there to tell the truck it...
  20. 8492 - 2019 Ranger - Trailer Brake Controller Availability

Since the discussion revolves around trailer brake controllers, I assumed we were only discussing the 7 pin socket. The inexpensive tester is something that plugs into the socket and completes the circuits tested, otherwise the LEDs in the tester wouldn't light. But mine doesn't have enough of...
