I'm not set on these kits yet, that's why I asked for everyone's opinion. The feedback so far has me re-thinking things. I did look up the Fox kit again after it was mentioned. It's more affordable than I thought. I'm really thinking about going the coil over route.
My truck gets a lot of...
I can't speak for the lifted guys yet as I'm still figuring out what setup I'm going to run.
However, through my own research it seems that wider tires have more of an affect on gas mileage than height does. Take that with a grain of salt though as I don't yet have any experience. Also, 10 ply...
My stock tires are 265/60/18 and I have enough clearance to fit a 275. All the aforementioned kits say nothing bigger than 285 on stock wheels. Hopefully I can get away with not using a spacer, seems most members haven't needed them until going to 285s or wider. I'll keep my fingers crossed though.
Yeah, I'm sticking with stock wheels for now. I will upgrade at some point, but right now I'm more interested in height than width. When I upgrade to aftermarket wheels I will probably look at a wider tire and a wheel with a more suitable offset.
If I can get away with not running spacers that...
It's been raining a lot lately here in South Central TN, but I haven't noticed any issues. I've been 90 mph in this rain with no issues. It has been some strong storms here. This truck leaves me feeling so confident I didn't even think about hydroplaning.
However, I've yet to run into a...
I've also considered doing a similar setup and it's still a possibility as well. I didn't think about the drilling holes in the frame aspect of the differential drop brackets. I guess I was thinking it would reuse factory holes, so you've brought up a good point. The FabTech kit doesn't come...
A 285/70/17 is .2 inches smaller than a 275/70/18 and a 285/70/18 is only .5 inches bigger.
I don't want to run 285s on stock wheels because in most cases a spacer is needed to clear the spindle knuckle.
The 3 inch level kit is on my list of options as well. I'm leaning more towards a 3.5...
So I'm thinking about doing a 3.5 inch lift on my Ranger.
I'm currently deciding between the Fabtech, BDS or Rough Country kit.
All three include control arms and spacers for the front and either a block or shackle for the rear.
I'm interested to hear from other members who have installed...
I'm 6'3" and I'm comfortable even on an 800 mile trip I took. I have the seat all the way back.
I've always driven smaller vehicles so the 2019 Ranger feels big to me. My last Ranger was a regular cab and was a little crowded feeling, but doable.
The telescoping steering column is a big plus...
Nice! I watched this earlier and thought about posting it, but thought I better double check here first since you mentioned the forum in the video.
Good job spreading the word on the pros and cons of our trucks!
I took delivery November 30 and I have 9,800 miles already. I drive 160 miles a day round trip for work. At this rate I will be around 50k after a year.
My last ranger went over 300k and I've had an Explorer go over 300k. Two Explorers go over 250k and two Explorers go over 200k. All with no...
Yes. I'm sure. The key stays in my pocket. I've never left it in vehicle. This was confirmed when it was raining one day and I got out to run in the house and was stuck in the rain for a few extra seconds because it didn't pick up on my key and I had to unlock using the fob.
Cheers,
Coby
Try it. The truck must be left running and all doors must be shut. It will double honk as you walk away to confirm it's locked. I don't know if it's a feature that's exclusive to the Lariat, but my Lariat does it.
If the truck is running it will auto lock when you walk away. It will also honk at you to confirm it's locked. You may get a few odd looks at the gas station but it's a nice feature.
Another valid point that I didn't consider. I might try using the stock springs with Eibach struts. I saw that was possible in another thread.
Cheers,
Coby
