  1. Post your off-road pics.

Last weekends day hike followed by scouting for camping spots led me down a telephone line road. The trail ended up dead ending at a river after getting progressively worse. Ranger handled it just fine.
  2. Post your off-road pics.

Thanks so much for the link! Always another way on this forum to lighten the wallet 💸
  3. Post your off-road pics.

@Stevedbvik1 would you have a link to the sway bar disconnects? I've been interested in getting a pair. Does it make a noticeable difference in your opinion? Awesome photos by the way! Looks like a real blast.
  4. Tacoma reliability

I hold a soft spot in my heart for this generation of Tacoma's...sad to see it rot.
  5. Question for anyone who's done their front suspension

When I installed my Fox 2.0 suspension I left the rotor and calipers on. I did remove the axle nuts to avoid disconnecting the CVs.
  6. Upgrading my ford ranger 2020 xlt fx4

Rock sliders are always nice for off-roading. I'd consider them if you are building for rock crawling.
  7. Redarc brake controller.

The elite and liberty should be the same form factor. It just comes down to what features you need - see this comparison.
  8. Redarc brake controller.

I installed the tow pro liberty in December following the e-trailer video and found it easy enough. Make sure to have a Dremel as you will have to remove a good amount of the plastic corrugation if you install near the shifter and transfer case shifter. You'll need the pigtail - an additional...
  9. Vent Visors With Tinted Glass

I have no skin in the game here (no vents) but I have a hunch on their intent. The vent may push the window more firmly into the seal on the tinted side causing faster wear over time. I'm not convinced but YMMV.
  10. Tow mirrors.

They aren't vehicle specific are they? I like this solution more than dedicated tow mirrors especially given I occasionally tow at best.
  11. 2021 Lariat 60,000 miles - stupid to upgrade suspension?

The rears are simpler, this is correct. I'd recommend working with an off-road shop or trusted mechanic if you feel unsure on handling the coils. It should be a nominal feel to swap them over. You can do the rest of the work yourself to save money. To avoid popping out the joint you'll need to...
  12. 2021 Lariat 60,000 miles - stupid to upgrade suspension?

I was thinking of going that way myself but found a set of Fox 2.0s unused on marketplace for $800. Couldn't pass that up. Plus aluminum body is nice to avoid any corrosion in a wet environment like the PNW.
  13. 2021 Lariat 60,000 miles - stupid to upgrade suspension?

FYI the fox 2.0 suspension uses Eibach springs. I would recommend considering the firmer suspension options given the constant weight on your truck.
  14. Rotors

The best way to know is measure. You can find the service instructions on this forum, they will provide rotor specifications.
  15. Off-Road Events: Worth It or Just Hype?

I haven't been to one myself but my brother has. Overall - Frenchy's evaluation is correct. Some can be slower paced and more like car shows. You show off, take pictures, and lightly overland. These can also be excellent for learning as you're guaranteed to have more experienced folks to get...
  16. China copy cat

The grill is undoubtedly Ford. The body otherwise is a toss up. The worldwide market Toyota, Ford, and Holden utes all looks similar.
  17. Lincoln "Bronco"

I consider Lincoln in a tough spot so I don't blame them for trying crazy ideas. That being said I doubt this would be a successful venture. IMO Lincoln should focus on aesthetic appeal (a different, cohesive body and interior style) with premium materials (real wood, leather, speakers) and...
  18. The PIC whore club! Come on in!

I'd recommend the book The Things We Make by Bill Hammack. It covers the arches in the cathedral and explains engineering before computer simulation and precise testing methods. It always amazes me humanity could create things like that with rudimentary tools.
  19. Engine shot - Coolant intrusion - 74k miles on my Ford Ranger 2.3L I4 xlt

Marketing: look at all the fun and adventurous things you can do with a Ranger. Warranty: You actually bought a Ranger and did those things?! Claim denied
  20. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Always love a good hauling picture - especially when its from a DIYer. My haul this weekend was less impressive. Just a lightly used door to refinish for my office. Hauling anything other than people or the dachshunds always makes me wish I would have gotten a scab.
