There is an accessory rail but on my truck it doesn't slide up high enough to touch the main cover crossrail. I could modify it or add a strip of weather seal to the top but that doesn't fix the openings at the corners. I would have designed the bulkhead seal differently by extending it to...
I sent them a message about 10 days ago and never heard from them so I called on Friday. The support person asked me to send photos and then responded back again today saying that she thought the cover was located too close to the cab. Told her it was an inch away from the cab and lined up...
Thanks for the thorough instruction document you created. I contacted F150LEDs this morning and they still recommend their F150 kit. No special kit or instructions for the Ranger on their site or planned, I guess. I'll just use your write-up as a guide with some modification since I have a...
I'm planning on ordering the F150led kit. How did your install go and are you happy with it?
Edit
I found your write-up on the installation. Are you still happy with it?
I tried to post the following link to the latest Sync 3 .zip that is stored in my Google drive for another member that requested it.
I guess it was deleted. I didn't see a forum rule saying links to files are not allowed. Would the link have been deleted by an administrator?
I agree with most of the others. I had an XLT on order without having even driven one. My dealer called and told me they had a Lariat FX4 with most of the other options I wanted and to come in and drive it if I wanted to. What they didn't tell me was that it was at the end of the month and...
Thanks for the additional info. My cover is VKB3Z-99501A42-J and cost me $329. It is the Truxport which is what I installed on my 05 Ranger. It worked great with no leaks and the new owner is still using it. I guess I'm screwed and will have to fix it myself with additional weather stripping.
I...
Thanks for the info. I have a SuperCrew w/ 5' bed. Do you have the 6' bed? That might explain a difference in instruction sheet appearance but not the difference in weather seal design.
I hate companies that aren't straight with customers that are having a problem and then try to blame...
Thanks, mine came with printed installation instructions from Truxedo and the vinyl roll has the Ford logo embossed in it. The instructions call it a Truxport and the phone number got me to Truxedo. The support person agreed it is their product for Ford. I guess a dealer installed yours.
I also have the Ford Rollup on cover kit installed on my Lariat SuperCrew bed. Mike leaks at the bulkhead seal. It doesn't have the flap shown in your photo. I called TruXedo support and they were not very helpful; saying they don't warranty it to be waterproof. The SN of my cover is...
Ok, I have never been in a SuperCab so I wasn't sure. I've been wondering if anyone has checked out using the parts from an F150 in the Ranger but the slider may be a different size. That might be a worthwhile mod.
Has anyone found an aftermarket power assist for the sliding rear window? The window is not very useful in a supercrew and probably not in a supercab either.
Thanks for this. I installed mine a couple of weeks ago and was getting ready to buy a 250 ft-lb torque wrench to finish the job. Mine only goes to 150.
Are you guys all using the 3M Adhesion Promoter or just scuffing the back of the sill plate? It seems to me that scuffing with fine grit sandpaper or steel wool will give about the same adhesion properties. I know 3M likes to sell their expensive chemicals. Does anyone know for sure?
