I tow a 8.5x20' enclosed that's 7500lbs and I'm using the 10k Equalizer WDH hitch. I'm thinking the bags would nice to return the rear to right height so at night I'm not pointing my headlights at the stars. But the feedback about droop limiting is discouraging.
I used the Firestone Ride...
Thanks for posting. I have air bags on the motorhome (C-Class) and they were a godsend not just for leveling but for easing out the harshness of expansion joints.
I'm thinking they would be helpful on the Ranger to keep the rear up and add a bit of stability while towing.
I have E-rated on the motorhome that is the primary tow vehicle and on the trailer. I set them all cold at 80psi for peace of mind. I do all the right things when towing and just did a cross country trip - I have a tongue scale, I've balanced the trailer, use an Equalizer, e-rated tires, big...
Oh for sure that one!
But since I was referencing finance, it would be Cost Benefit Analysis. The Ranger got a pretty good OEM filter from the crankcase that did pass the CBA as there is one in place, however a more elaborate filtration system that covers both CCV and PVC sides AND...
“If the engineers felt it was needed it would have come with one!”
Thanks for comments like that, I needed a good laugh. Engineers feel like cars need LOTS of things the bean counters don’t/won’t approve. Building to a budget means a lot of “ideals” are compromised.
Which reminds me of the...
I keep going back and forth between the general atx and cooper and I think the atx has much better snow rating. We dont get much snow here but I do drive up to the resorts in the winter.
My trailer is just a 20’ enclosed. Only way it weighs 7.5k empty is if its made of lead. But full, it is...
I appreciate the feedback and hope others with my consideration find it helpful too. I'm looking at the Cooper Discoverer ST MAXX 265/70/17 on OEM wheels as my Hankooks are starting to get long in the tooth. The other tire is the General Grabber ATx. I've always had really good luck with...
I will likely be buying new tires this winter and I'm looking at E-Rated tires (80psi/10ply tires). I have tires like this on my motorhome and enclosed trailer but I've never put E-rated tires on my daily drivers, opting for comfort instead.
Anyone who tows heavy swapped to E-Rated tires...
Be careful not to separate your CV joint.
Also - don't neglect to reset your headlight alignment. It's easy with a few pieces of tape on your garage door and the adjusters can be turned by hand (well, mind could). Oncoming traffic will thank you.
850 mile roadtrip with 1000+lbs of payload and cruise at 80mph. Got 22-23mpg.
As for McDonald's lady - typical home water heater is set at ~140f - different than 180-190. She didn't want to sue either - she only wanted a 20k settlement to pay her hospital bills and MDCs only offered $800 -...
Youtube TV was my cable replacement especially when it was $35/mo. Then they added Discovery channels and it went up to $49 then recently they added more channels and were like "Great news!, we added channels you don't care about and now your bill $65/mo!!"
So great, now the alternative to...
I have both PCV and CCV side catch cans.
My PCV side has 4k on it and my CCV side (turbo side), has about 3k miles. Ive done multiple road trips (lots of cruise control) and did some local towing.
PCV side: oil and gas, that would be a lot of crap on the valves.
Here is the CCV side...
