Hands-down, the most useful pickup bed accessory that I’ve ever used is a powered lift gate. Everything else pales in comparison. Magnetic load management doesn’t even register.
It does not see the sensor in the spare carrier. It looks at each wheel position, and finds whatever sensor is in that position. You can watch the dash display update in real time as it discovers the sensors and updates.
If I had to guess, it would likely be due to low order numbers as a stand-alone option. FX4 has the selectable terrain modes, in addition to the rear locker. That’s how I would order it, despite the many complaints about the FX4 shock tuning.
Even if the connectors aren’t the same, I wouldn’t hesitate to splice for this. Use the adhesive-lined heat-shrink tubing to ensure a good seal against the weather.
Shorter sidewalls provide more responsive steering. My factory wheels are 18”, and I picked up a set of OE 17” for winter use. Taller sidewalls absorb bumps better. There are far too many, and more significant factors that affect fuel consumption. Equipping the truck with the same model tire...

I second the suggestion to visit IRV2.com. There is a huge base of experience. Look past the strong opinions and collect the information that is useful to you. I’ve been ther since 2015. No regrets.
Build-quality and design are critical components of durability, but so is sustainability over time. Since the COVID supply chain disruptions began, it has been difficult to get many repair parts. With a redesign coming in 2023, I have doubts about sustainability of the North American variant...

For the past year, the 17” silver-painted STX/XLT alloy wheels have been the best value, hovering In the $75-130 range from refurbisher/resellers. I bought five of them for $430, with center caps. I see some 18” under $200, which seems like a fair deal.
