To all,
Thank you to everyone for the ideas and suggestions. I just returned from the dealer and they found the “back
plate” was running on the rotor at slow speeds, causing the incredible high pitch noise. They claimed they bent it back a few mm and now it shouldn’t be a problem. I am thankful...
It is definitely more than a low pitch whine. It is a HIGH pitch whine, that can definitely be heard no matter where you are. Coming home the very FIRST day from the dealership, my neighbors dog looked at me like I was an alien turning down my driveway. No, it's just me in my BRAND new pickup.
Looks like my manufacturing date is 7/2020? So, I’m not sure if this could still be the source or not. But, I will certainly mention this TSB at dealer tomorrow, for what it’s worth.
Thanks for the suggestion. It will give the hard braking a try and see if it helps. That would be great if it were that simple. I must admit that I am a little concerned being day 2 with this brand new truck and I haven't purchased a new vehicle in over 20 years!
Unfortunately, it isn't the dull roar that you hear when starting out. It is definitely "something else" and it isn't what I would consider to be normal by any stretch of the imagination
Unfortunately, I am day two with my truck and it pretty "repeatable". It is happening without applying the brakes and happens when going straight or when turning, all at very low speed.
Sorry, I thought the video attached but I guess it didn't. I sent a message to Admin for help. Anyway, the noise is VERY high pitch and happens mostly in first gear at very low speeds. It has also occurred while in reverse. It definitely not the turbo and it is a sound I have ever heard before...
