Ah, to clarify: too high of a level. Sorry for being unclear. I haven't checked the fuel % though. I just see the oil level continues to rise past the top dipstick hole, regardless of how much highway I drive (and despite really long trips).
Thanks. Interesting idea. You mean fuel trim, right? Either way, I wouldn't be able to change anything myself, but I think you're saying that taking that data to the dealership, might be okay in place of a CEL.
I would have thought such a condition would be flagged though and cause CEL...
Yes, I have it on still. It contributes to a ~1% area loss on the inlet.
Note that I didn't have the mesh for 1.5 years (mpg was low right out of the factory), and no change in mpg after adding it. So I think it is not contributing.
And sure, I'll post a photo.
Thanks. I tried that for a week, and definitely get worse mileage. Also: this wouldn't affect mpg on the highway where i'm always in 10th gear (and still get 17-18 mpg, formerly 19-20), so that seems to indicate that it's not my acceleration habit.
At highway speeds on cruise control, the...
9) "Full synthetic, change every 5 to 10k. 3k is way too soon."
Yep, already do full synthetic as mentioned. Too much fuel in oil, so I change it. Also, I only have 8k miles, so the 1 year comes up before 5k miles does
10)"My Tremor averages right at 20 in the Winter and 21 in warmer months. My...
Yep, not all were answered in original post, hence saying "Many" :D And agreed there was additional info needed, so I'm trying to answer them all as best as I can:)
I fill up each time, never partially. I reset the trip counter and mpg every time, plus hand calculate mpg every time.
Thanks all. Many of the questions or suggestions were already answered in the original post, but addressing them all here:
1) "If you’re in Sport or tow mode you’ll run higher rpm’s and get less mpg."
I'm on normal D mode.
2) "Also, how heavy is your foot?"
Per the original post, gentle and...
I'm (yet again) taking my '21 XLT to the dealership, this time for MPG issues. MPG has always been really bad on this vehicle even when new, about 19-20 mpg highway (hand-calculated) at 65 mph and no wind, and stock 2wd. Adding a topper and new tires didn't change mpg.
Without any alteration...
My 97 XLT had WAY less problems in all the time I owned it (to 250k miles), than I've had with my 21 XLT. Basically, zero problems with the '97.
My '21 -- purchased new, factory order -- is a total lemon, and is constantly in the shop for all kinds of problems.
And it's only at 8,000 miles...
Looks nice! Congrats on having it to test out.
It's a shame they didn't make it slightly less tall, so that it sits flush -- wouldn't that be a 15% or so decrease in range? To me that'd be a worthwhile trade.
I know it's a delayed update, but i just received a notification of this thread being moved, so:
I was able to resolve (1) by adding some caulking to the outside body panel seam between the A-pillar and hood. I traced that as the source and verified where to seal with compressed air, taping...
The FX series includes inclinometers (angle measurements) in the off-road screen.
(i know it can be enabled for non-FX as well)
But i'm not sure why it's useful off-road. Is there a spec for approximate maximum allowable sideways tilt angle for a stock FX vehicle, before it starts to tip over...
Interesting. I thought the purpose of going to AGM was due to autostart/stop functionality, where lead acid batteries don't have the lifespan for repeated surge for autostart.
Can anyone clarify?
wait, which recall are people talking about? Is it the windshield bonding one? Why might that apply here? Mine is a '21, from march 2021.

Thanks all -- this was very helpful. I'll bring this to the dealership's attention then :)
Yeah, shame that these aren't caught... I also didn't catch it, despite compiling a LONG list of things to check before accepting the vehicle, based on everything i read on these forums in prep. This one...
