Awesome :) Wait, did anything change? As far as I know think these vehicles don't have firmware changes, and Sync updates don't include vehicle changes either...
Thanks for the videos!
It's tricky to compare the video to stock, since i'm not sure what your mic sensitivity is like, but it seems like stock noise when idle or normal driving, and louder when accelerating hard.
Anecdotally, what did you notice in terms of noise?
Also, do you have any other...
I'm right here ? and can also take questions directly :p
1) @Frenchy , I gave background to my post for why i'm asking, as is standard. If I didn't, people would say "We need context to be able to help you; why are you asking, and what are you trying to do?"
Are you saying that people can't...
Exactly as @got3fords wrote also, I was asking about what quiet aftermarket exhausts exist. ("Is there an aftermarket exhaust / downpipe combo that's just as quiet as stock?")
I wasn't asking to fix mpg in general in this thread; though i did appreciate the posts the talk about...
Y'all, i'm genuinely very confused. I'm linking people directly to a post with LOTS of details, which are the answers to what y'all are asking for. Why is that considered lazy? :D
Come on now, really, i'm not sure what your expectation is beyond that...:p
Wouldn't it be lazy to not check out the...
Yep, i'm pointing to that. Isn't that the best way to go...?
Or should I be posting the same details over again each time someone asks, when I can just link to a post that summarizes it nicely? I'm confused :D
I see, yeah good to check; the configuration mentioned in the linked thread is up to date, so the post is the best place to get the info.
The thread includes all the things I checked in response to peoples' help, but I didn't change anything configuration-wise since then.
I'm in Cali, so ethanol is mandatory in gas. But other Cali members (who also use the same gas) get far better mpg than myself, so gas isn't the issue. Per my earlier posts i've also tried a few tanks of all the octanes, and mpg got worse the higher octane I used.
I got this mpg straight from...
They all seem normal when looking at it running (as other vehicles), but how could I tell if the fan clutch itself is causing an issue? Wouldn't I hear or feel anything?
Sadly yes. This is just one thread here that I posted that gives all the details. The thread is long, but most of the info is in the 1st page or so as ppl asked more questions.
I'm desperate to improve mpg because it's so bad, and such an outlier compared with other members' experiences.
I read...
I'm looking to improve mpg on my 2wd '21 XLT (i've posted on here about its terrible 18 mpg highway mileage, and tried a dozen things to fix it with all your help, with no success)
Is there an aftermarket exhaust / downpipe combo that's just as quiet as stock? I live in a quiet neighborhood...
Wow. But also, hmmm, that's a 30% increase, and agreed that seems so high to the point of implausibility :D
Since my '21 ranger always gets terrible mileage since the day I bought it (2wd, XLT), are there any exhausts that are higher-flow but also are no noisier than stock?
I agree with others and my adaptive cruise has been fine.
BUT, I felt deceived by the marketing, in that the ranger's adaptive cruise disengages when dropping below ~10 mph.
It is NOT stop-and-go adaptive cruise control -- unlike (I believe) what the f150 can do.
It's would have been most useful...
1) I just put masking tape over the entire inside front crack. Water can still leak out if needed but it basically seals dust from getting in.
2) I also seal all the bed's side holes.
3) For the tailgate cracks, there are products that are flexible rubber strips, like those from ESI; I use...
Yeah, definitely found it livable. The window is workable but not the best, but I did get more used to it; when I first got it, I didn't think it'd be workable, but it's okay enough that I don't get frustrated about it anymore (though it's not ideal).
Also despite the slightly more cramped than...
