  1. 2019 Ranger MPGs

It should get a little better in the summer. I'm rolling on slight larger/heavier tires and I'm able to pull off 20mpg pretty consistently this winter. Was closer to 23mpg this past fall.
  2. Michigan Sold: JLT Catch Can kit for 2019+ Rangers (used for 500 miles, Anodized Black))

Tried the hole catch can craze out on my Ranger and wasn't exactly sold on it. I used it for a couple weeks and ended taking it off. Willing to sell the kit for $70 dollars and ship for an additional $30. No missing parts except for the hose "dress-up caps", which are just caps that hide the...
  3. Michigan 1 Hankook Dynapro ATM P265/65R17 Tire 0 miles

Was mounted on my spare wheel but I swapped it out for a tire that more matched the diameter of my 32's. Its in very good shape and was never used. Will separate with it for $75. It has been stored inside (so no UV damage and so on). Willing to ship on the buyers dime (please PM for quote if...
  4. Michigan Sold: Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator P/N 742502 - UNLOCKED

Kinda impulse bought this speedometer calibrator, only to find my speed it not that far off (only 2mph off a 80mph). Want t sell it and put the cash elsewhere. It also needs to be updated, which is free through Hypertech's website and software portal (has the older F-150 firmware, needs to be...
  5. Who is using wheel locks?

I don't use them like to use them. Adds an extra step every time you rotate or have to remove a wheel. Plus, they offer no to negligable added security in the real world. Hammering on the right sized cheap 12 point socket allows you to take them right off. The only situation I would use them...
  6. Fumuto Valves are great and all......

It helps to get the oil up to near operating temp, which takes a little while longer than the engine coolant. We use these and similar valves/drains on our diesel equipment. In the winter you absolutely have to let the engine run for 15-20 minutes or it will take half the day to drain 10...
  7. Resonator Delete

Thanks for posting at least. I had a Fiesta ST a little while ago and a reso delete made the stock exhaust sound perfect. Too bad its not the case with the Ranger.
  8. Anyone Purchase a Courtesy Vehicle?

I was offered one while I was negotiating for my Ranger. Declined it because I was afraid of the "rental car" factor, wasn't exactly what I was looking for, and the discount just wasn't steep enough to justify buying a "technically" used vehicle.
  9. 285/70/17 on stock wheels

From what I've read on here, you'll need to run a spacer in the front if you wish to keep the stock wheels. I run a 275 series tire on stock wheels (no spacers) and its very close to the spindle, but I've had no issue with the tire deflecting into them. I imagine that will not be the case with...
  10. What oil will you be running after your 1st oil change?

Agreed, posted the video above to show their "general" quality. 3 wrongs don't mean you should be praised for 1 right.
  11. K&N

Completely agree with you t4thfavor. An extra (maybe if there is again???) 2-5hp is not worth dusting the engine.
  12. Do I need UCAs?

My sheet shows my caster being right on spec. Trust me, I would have corrected this issue if there was one. I do this for a living 5 days a week and as a hobby for the other 2.
  13. Do I need UCAs?

I have a 2 inch level on my truck and the dealer was able to align it spot on the factory specs, with OEM UCA's. There's a lot of adjustment on the lower control arm eccentrics.
  14. Ordered Readylift 2 inch kit

You dont need a compressor to install the Ready Lift 2 inch kit. It's just a 2 piece spacer kit that goes between the mounting points at the top and bottom of the strut assembly. I think the Stage 3 video is a BDS kit, which involves taking apart the strut to install the kit (hence the need...
  15. Blinking headlight

You could be right as well. I know the drivers for LED's can be a little finicky. Trying to retrofit these newer vehicles with LEDs or HIDs can be a headache. I had a 2016 Fusion was a pain in the butt to retrofit.... too many night spent researching this topic.
  16. Blinking headlight

From my understanding, its the Body Control Module testing to see if the headlight is operational or burnt out. You can fix this issue by running an Anti-Flicker harness aka capacitor inline. When the BCM momentarily cuts power the the headlight, the capacitor will discharge and keep your...
  17. Softopper cover for super cab

Sweet! I know what I'll be saving up for this winter.
  18. Is this true? MUST finish drain and refill in 10 mins or RISK involved

I used to work as a Heavy Engine Mechanic for a GM dealer. I've torn down many engines to only replace pistons and rings. I personally prefer to pressure prime an engine with oil but "Flat Rate" compensation for mechanics takes the pride and care out of the trade (only was paid 6 hours for a...
  19. Fuel in oil

Quick question.... Whats your current millage?
  20. Is this true? MUST finish drain and refill in 10 mins or RISK involved

Just a simple lesson to never assume you know everything! I was instructed in trade school to always refer to all the resources available to you. All our tests were open book because of this. I have see stuff like this first hand.... I worked with an old school mechanic about 8 years ago...
