I agree Phil, OPs materials look to be relatively thin. I gave him a +1 for coming up with his own solution. If I were to build my own version of it (or anyone else thinking of using OPs idea) I would recommend using heavier materials.
on a side note have a Happy Birthday!
I do like the improvisation, but to those who can’t weld or don’t have one it would be possible to just install the triangle rings on the strap without the back strap.. they won’t be centered and will slide around a bit but if you want and need another tie down point it’s an easy and inexpensive...
My truck has had the recall listed on the FordPass app since the day I bought it and it was certified preowned and also I got a letter in the mail maybe 6 months after having it regarding the recall as well. Personally I don’t plan on ever bringing it into the dealership unless I absolutely have to
One could argue I guess with the old line that necessity is the mother or all invention, and that some or most people enjoy having plenty of convenience features, and that goes for things beyond vehicles. Things that once were made to fill a niche market become standard equipment eventually cuz...
Here in NJ on public roads it is illegal for your vehicle to exceed the GVWR. And as RP said you need a tarp to cover ANY load your hauling technically. They don’t bother passenger vehicles too much but they love getting a hold of commercial vehicles. So the idea that severely overloading is...
I’ve seen those for years and they look convenient. I love that little rake on their website there for getting the crap outta the bed liner. That’s always the worst part is getting the leftover stuff out of the bed.
This thread reminds me why I decided to buy the Ranger in the first place mostly commuting and fun with the part time need to haul stuff to and from work and what not. If I had the to buy a dedicated full size HD work truck and carry large loads I would have. Hauling bulk top soil or stone in...
That is true, I included it as it was the only part/ feature my truck hadn’t come with from the list. I’ve already ordered a 3D printed one but thanks for the link
Wheels would probably be my next mod. I have the truck leveled with 275/70/17s with spacers on the sport rims. A nice set of like +20 offset wheels would be great but I’m to cheap right now to switch wheels and remount and all that lol
From what I have gathered there’s not much to be gained from upgrading the stock intercooler on the Ranger itself as it flows well enough to supply a “mildly” enhanced engine would probably look bada** though
Definitely do you man, I keep my truck cleaner than many others I see, I personally would drive myself crazy trying to be a perfectionist with my truck so I try to just let it go and (for me) be a little realistic in my expectations. Being my truck is 3 years old and showing minor rust in the...
I see all sorts or hints at rust and paint needing touch up work in my Ranger. Sadly I feel like it would be playing an unwinnable game trying to prevent every single instance of rust from happening as I’ve owned and seen trucks rust and rot themselves into pieces after years of plowing and...
Same here being old school, this is the only new and heavy tech oriented vehicle(DITC) Ive ever owned. This forum really helps me feel at ease working on this thing as all other vehicles I’ve owned have been relatively simple naturally aspirated obd1 tech. I currently have zero complaints...
